I think it would be best to discuss it in the meeting or whatever, no?

My friend Lara called yesterday and said she'd read the Dark SiDe book. She was amazed with our imagination and said that the only thing needed is a bit of editing, mostly in the beginning.
Now, the copy she read was a very early one - Jason is still called HB and HebrewB in it, and it doesn't even have the ending. So we can't be that far from finishing it! I went through it one more time and noted down the parts that need editing, I'll attach them in my next post. Other than that, we should write an intro - I would love to get back to D-SD writing, it'll be refreshing!
EDIT: I was thinking... we have no explanation as to how we got The Book of all Knowledge (since we can't use the original object quests) and for the same reason we can't explain how they all ended up in hell... So why not combine the two? They go on a quest to find Brian and then they end up in the Underworld!

My dad said he has a friend in LA who works on scripts, movies/hollywood etc. Anyway, they talked not too long ago and he says he may be able to get our book published and if it's good even give it some screen time! Know it's a long shot but we got nothing to lose and it would be fun! We just need to finish editing this... or write Traversing Worlds!
What do you think?

Personally, between the two I think Traversing Worlds is more likely to be a big seller. The Dark SiDe Island is good, don't get me wrong, but when we started it we were much younger, whereas with Traversing Worlds, we've got much better with our writing, and I think between the two it would be much easier to turn Traversing Worlds into a screenplay. I would be more than willing to turn Traversing Worlds into a script.

We could publish the DarkSiDe book as a web book if you're not up for ordinary publishing.

Aye, i'm just talking from a purely business-oriented view. Traversing Worlds will appeal to a wider demographic, mostly because we have matured as writers and storytellers, as well as people. As such, the plot is more coherent, the characters are more consistent, and, well, the writing quality is better. Plus, we've managed to avoid Mary Sueism. With Dark SiDe Island it's basically just a cast of self-inserts with minor changes and the addition of magical powers. At least, that's what I envisioned HB as. Me, but more awesome. With Traversing Worlds we have varied and interesting characters who are just as flawed as a normal human being. We have Cainn who is a manipulative SOB , Tobias is a total geek with very few social skills, and a hint of absent-mindedness, Jaspar is... Well... Jaspar is Jaspar. The other characters are pretty damn good too. If we've ever stood a chance of getting a story published, it's with Traversing Worlds. It's just a much more marketable story, with better writing as we improved over the years.

HB makes a damn good argument, and I agree, the Dark SiDe Island was written when we were in our teens. Reading what I wrote when we started the Island is embarrassing, to say the least. Only thing is I feel like i've missed the bandwagon on Traversing Worlds, and even if I do get on, I'd have to make a better character for a published work. I didn't put much effort into making Syon, he was thrown together rather quickly and needs more fleshing out.

Good point, Jason. It's times like this that make me wish we could just all meet up and talk...
Anyway, why not self publish the Island, just for our selves? It doesn't have to be anything commercial, just a memento of what we once were...

I'm with Jason as well on this... Traversing Worlds would be far more interesting to work with! And Chris, don't worry, there are many characters that have not been introduced yet! We just need to keep writing it - it's moving a bit slowly. I suggest small but regular posts As for the Island, yeah we could just make a few prints for ourselves!

Query: Could we send a draft to Chris so he can presnt it to Tor Books? They're awesome:
