[yay new page. I've posted a joint RP with HB on the previous page, don't miss it!]
Misha was one of the first to volunteer to leave the Dome, in order to investigate the curious weather. It had been his dream, ever since he was little, to go to the outside world. A foolish dream, many told him, but a dream nonetheless, and he was determined to achieve his goal. When he was a child, Misha learnt to fly his first ship, then his first jet a few years later. As years passed, his talent in piloting grew, and he was convinced that one day he would get the chance to fly out of the Dome. Now, at the age of 8 (that would be about 16, in Earth years), he finally had the opportunity, and so he rushed to sign up for the investigation.
“No,” came the reply, simple and harsh. “Why not?” Misha asked, feeling a knot form in his throat. “You are not qualified for this,” the investigator informed him. “There is nothing wrong with me!” As Misha said that, he couldn’t help but push his hoof stubbornly against the floor. The Upela eyed him awkwardly, hesitating to answer at first. “Look… The tests show that your… intellectual capacity… does not precisely meet our standards.” “Hey, I may not be a genius, but I am dedicated, and certainly more brave than any of the Upelas you have come across! Let me come, and I will prove to you that you are underestimating me!” Misha pushed, beginning to lose his temper. “Why does it matter that much? I can’t help it, I was born that way, and I hate hearing it from you people! What do you know about me? Does nothing else count?” “Bravery without a mind to go with it is nothing but foolishness! What shall I do with you child, if you lose contact with the group? You can’t always have someone telling you what to do, you need to use your own mind from time to time!” “You really think that I can’t use my mind?” “Yes I do, for no one in his right mind would be so desperate to go on this mission in the first place!”
The investigation team was programmed to leave the following day. And Misha would not be going with them. That thought ran through the young Upela’s mind again and again. They had no right to deny him his dream! How angered, how disappointed, how bitter he felt! He wanted to scream, to punch, to swear. And he did, plenty of times. One time he did so in the middle of the street, while on his way home. That got him quite few strange looks, but thankfully there had not been many Upelas around.
“How dare they!” Misha kept mumbling to himself. “This is what I’ve been waiting for!” Then his eyes narrowed. “I’ll show them. If they won’t let me… Well it’s not like I need them!” And he hurried to his workshop with a new plan in mind.

His bare chest was covered in sweat – he had been working for hours in a row, improving his latest jet. While the machine was brilliant in speed, power and size, it had been lacking in one thing: discretion. But that had changed now. Misha managed in just a few hours to compress the roaring sound of the jet’s engine so much, it was barely audible. He grinned proudly to himself, admiring his favourite – up till then – creation. It was small for its power – about the size of two men – while its wings were short and thin, to allow quick and sudden turns. It flew brilliantly though, gracefully. And it looked beautiful too: Misha had used the finest crystal he could find to make that baby.
Only a few hours until the team left to investigate. They had begun to test the Gate – a huge, round “door” at the top of the Dome, which allowed air-ships to exit to the outside world. The Gate had not been used for a while, so they had to make sure it was working properly. It was Misha’s time to act.
Hurrying and pushing his jet to the garden, after making sure no one was around, Misha jumped in, secured the glass door over him and powered the engine. It was strange; flying without the usual sound the jet made, but Misha was glad that his hard work had once again paid off. He could see the Gate straight up ahead, his heart beat faster and faster the closer he got. Carefully he increased the speed of the jet, so that he would go through unnoticed.
And then he was through. And no one seemed to notice. The Gate kept opening and closing, being repeatedly tested. The Highway kept moving, hundreds of vehicles passing by. The world had not stopped moving. And Misha was outside the Dome.
“I-I… I d-did it!!!” Stuttered the boy, not entirely sure if he was dreaming or not. Taking a deep breath he lowered the jet’s speed and gently brought it down, so that it would just about brush against the surface of the sea. Slowing down a bit more, he pushed the button that opened the glass top of the jet, so that he could fully enjoy the experience. “This is… this is something else…” Misha felt tears of joy fill his eyes as he breathed in the cool night air. “I can’t believe this air would kill me, if I spent too long outside. It feels so clean!” Then relaxing his eyes he whispered: “This must be the happiest day of my life…”
“I’m glad to hear that.” A deep, male voice suddenly sounded from behind him. “Because it’s also your last.”

Cainn could not believe how lucky he’d been. He had tried to find an Upela in a dark, secluded part of the city, preferably alone, so that he would not attract too much attention. But alas, they were all either watching the Gates open and close, or sitting safely in their homes. That was when he sensed a presence move outside the Dome. Grinning at his unbelievable luck, he pushed himself off the ground and flew out of the Gate, just as it was closing. He had been right: not too far away (for his unnatural eyes) he could make out a small air-craft or rather a jet flying just above sea level.
Quickly but silently flying towards it, he slowly landed behind the boy who was piloting it. It was a young one too – no older than 8 or 9 Upelean years old! The young ones were always the most refreshing.
Cainn could already feel his pulse quicken, the lust he had kept under control in the past few days grow – he had not fed since he’d come to Moonlight City, as he had planned to keep away from the Domes and the people. His mouth watered – metaphorically of course – as he recalled the intoxicating feeling of feasting upon one’s soul. The sense of life energy leaving a creature, while filling his entire body and spreading within him, was coming back to Cainn all too rapidly. He could already feel it engulfing him in the sheer ecstasy of its power.
The young Upela mumbled something about it being the best day of his life. The irony, Cainn laughed to himself and then spoke out loud: “I’m glad to hear that. Because it’s also your last.”

[Joint with HB ] Tobias grimaced once more. He seemed to be building a habit out of that. "And just how toxic is the air? How long can a Upela be outside before it begins to affect them?" "About an hour in a row and you start coughing, but if you get to a safe place it won't be a problem. Extended exposure, for a long period of time however can cause serious lung diseases. You humans seem to be unaffected though! At least Cainn's never had a problem with it." "An hour causes you to start coughing? Wow... On the other hand, it is good that humans are not affected. This should allow me to do some good tests on the air." Tobias began thinking, and turned to the wizened Upela. "Do you have any shops selling spare parts for machines, or perhaps some chemicals? I could probably make good use of a couple of jars too, if that is okay." At that question Heirbert formed a wide, proud smile. "So you're from one of those worlds huh? Those places where they use money... It is at times like this that I realise how lucky I am, living in Moonlight City..." "One of those worlds that use... Money? You mean you don't have money here?" Tobias looked somewhat confused by this. "No we do not. Everything is offered for free. The reward Upelas get for their work is satisfaction and acceptance - that is why we have so many in the entertainment business. And for anything else we need, we have technology to help us." "I see... That's interesting. Very interesting... I suppose some would say this is perfect, to live in a society where money means nothing." Tobias ran one hand through his hair, smiling. "This sounds great..." "Yes... so perfect you sometimes feel... trapped..." Muttered Heirbert. "That's why I did it you know... Not because of the money thing of course, but because nothing ever goes on here. We are trapped inside this Dome for our whole lives. Like a bird in a cage we can see the world outside but not touch it. Can you imagine what that's like? That's why I started sneaking out when I was young." "To be honest with you... I can't. I saw the world outside and shrunk away from it. I became an inventor so I would rarely have to venture outside. My world consisted of my lab, shops, and a TV set... The outside world seemed cruel to me." Tobias sighed, and looked towards Heirbert. "I could see the world outside any time I wanted, but they all seemed so... Bigoted. It's like I was the only one who could see how conceited we all were, so I just pulled away from it and lost myself in my inventions." Heirbert chose to answer with a single question. "But was your outside world truly as beautiful as this?" And he pointed outside the window to the glowing moons hovering in the purple sky, the powder-snow and the blue plants which seemed to be made out of crystal. "We had no... What's the word again?" Tobias thought for a moment, trying to remember what Cainn had said before. "Trees, that's it. I had never seen a tree before. Cainn told me what it was, and it seems so sad... The tree is alive, but can do nothing... I suppose my world, despite not having the beauty of your world, did not have such depressing... Plant life. Is that the right word? Plant life?" "You had never seen a tree before? That is unbelievable! No wonder you shut yourself away from the world! What a depressing thing, living in a place where nature is dead! Even inside the Dome we have trees, plants and parks. Living without them... I just can't imagine it. And yes I suppose you could call it plant life... It's not sad at all though. It's simply a part of the life circle. A plant does not need to go anywhere or do anything. It has no problems, no worries. It just enjoys the fact that it is alive - that is enough for it." "It does not need to do anything but live? I see... I guess I did not understand at first. The way Cainn described it seemed sad at first. Although, I suppose nature was not entirely dead. My world has a zoo; I guess that could be some form of nature, yes? Although, mostly, there are just machines everywhere. There are some other areas that I have heard of, though... There are some conservation parks too. I have heard of them, but have not been there." One word struck Heirbert as strange. "A zoo? What is a zoo?" He asked in wonder. "A zoo is a place where endangered animals are kept, for their own safety, mainly... Some people pay to go there and look at the animals too. They are kept in holocages, which make the enclosure look just like its natural habitat. They are trapped, I suppose, but it is better for them that way. They would not be able to survive otherwise." Tobias could hardly bear to look Heirbert in the eye. Those animals were essentially treat the same way as the Upela. Enclosed in one place, not allowed to leave. Trapped for their own safety. "Originally they were just kept in cages. I went to a zoo once and saw them. Some of them looked so sad... For all our technology and intelligence, my people do not seem to care for so-called 'lesser' races. That is why I invented the holocage. So they could be happier." "Animals... ah the non-sentient creatures? We don't have animals here. Nothing can survive it out there. It is a miracle our race has made it this far. You invented the hologage? What a brilliant mind you must have! You're an inventor, right? What other things have you invented?" Tobias grinned broadly at the compliment. "Thank you, and as for my inventions... Well, I have invented a lot of things... Mainly, though, I make improvements on things that already exist. I made an improved version of a nuclear reactor, and laser weapons for the military. I dislike violence, but weaponry must be made... Thankfully, my weapons are made to be as painless as possible. I also made a 'portal' device. It seems a little similar to those windows that Cainn mentioned, except it is not between worlds. I can make holes in one world that I can reach through instantaneously, but it might be better explained if I showed you..." "Sure thing. But before you do... Tell me why does weaponry have to be made? You make it seem as if it's a complete must..." "Well, it is unfortunate, but not every world is as peaceful as yours appears to be. My world does not have any major problems, however, other planets often try to attack us. Some want to steal our technology; some just want to kill us for no reason at all. People were always attacking Krillia, my home world, and we needed to defend ourselves." Tobias sighed, and reminisced. "Everyone on my planet has had weapons training since we were old enough to walk. We were under constant threat, and every citizen had to serve at least 2 years in the military. I admit, despite my hatred of violence, I have no fewer than 5 weapons with me right now." "I bet there are things more dangerous than those weapons you carry. Never forget that. And you speak of other planets... We have not made contact with other planets yet. Ah this is too much to take at once for an old Upela you know!" Heirbert laughed. "You should meet Misha. A curious case that one. The boy may not seem like the smartest Upela around but he's a genius when it comes to mechanics."

[very short RP to get things started]
When Cainn made it back to Heirbert’s house he found the Upela and Tobias sitting in the living room and talking. He greeted them, but avoided eye contact since his irises were still glowing lighter from the energy he had just received.
“I can see you guys were having fun without me,” he said with a grin.
“Only a little bit,” Heirbert laughed.
Shaking his head, Cainn sat himself next to the Upela. No one said anything for a few minutes, until Tobias excused himself to go to the toilet. As soon as the man was out of the room, Heirbert turned to Cainn.
“What are you up to?” he whispered accusingly. “And don’t tell me you’re helping them out of the kindness of your heart, because we both know that’s a lie.”
“Ah, you know me,” shrugged the dark-haired man. “I am simply too curious to let this go. I want to know about them, about their worlds, about their powers. About what lead them here. Don’t you understand Heirbert? As far as I know, I’ve been the only creature with the power to travel to different worlds, and suddenly they come along, prancing around Moonlight City, unable to even explain how they got here! Methinks something big is happening, and I want to be the first to discover exactly what it is. I want answers.”
“I understand…” he sounded sceptical. “And once you get those answers you seek?”
“Well... then I may just get hungry!” There was an eerie glint in his eyes.
“Just don’t do anything you will regret Cainn,” frowned the Upela.
“I regret nothing. We’ll be fine, as long as you don’t do anything stupid. You’re the closest thing I have to a friend, I would hate to… lose you, if you know what I mean.”
“Cainn—” he started, but stopped himself as Tobias walked back into the room.
“What did I miss?” He asked before slumping down on the couch.
Heirbert faked a yawn, “Nothing really, I’m just tired.”
“Way past your bedtime eh old man?” Cainn patted him on the back and the Upela rolled his eyes in response. “You should rest. As Tobbie here seems to be wide-awake, I’ll take him to see the city. What do you say Tobbie?”

Elvalia ran, ran until she didn't see the creature any more. She cowered next to a big, purple bush and waited.
Time passed by as it always does, and the girl didn't move. She laid without movement, until she saw the creature again.
This time, she wasn't afraid, She changed her position to better shadow the shady figure. Through the forest canopy, she could see it moving, examining it's surroundings. She wasn't going to lose it again.

JED
The fast-food-bitchboy was sat on the ground, staring at the spot where the door had been. Jed, on the other hand, paced angrily around a small clearing, not far from where they had entered.
"What the hell happened? This was meant to be a safehouse for fuck sake. A FUCKING SAFEHOUSE!"
Eddie slowly climbed to his feet and stumbled across the ground, still in shock. He made his way over to Jed uncertainly.
"Do you have any idea where we are?"
Jed simply shook his head.
"We're away from McSullivans at least, right?"
"We are a very long way away from McSullivans."
Eddie broke out into a huge grin, and pulled his black apron off from his navy blue work uniform. He threw the apron on the ground and stomped it into the dirt, cheering the whole time.
"YES! YES! OH HELL YES!"
"Okay, I know nobody really enjoys their day job... But why are you cheering like that?"
Eddie stopped cheering and stood completely still. His eyes reflected some sort of painful memory as he looked up at Jed.
"They forced me to stay... I was the only one who knew the truth. It was either stay loyal to the job, or die... That's what happens to anyone who finds out, you know... McSullivans burgers are just... You don't want to know what's in them."
"Like hell I don't! Their burgers are awesome!"
"It's people..."
"What?"
"They make it from people. A nationwide search for fresh graves and the occasional homeless guy goes missing here and there. They load the bodies into a meat grinder and feed them to people..."
"Wow... No wonder it tasted so good. Now, if you're done with the whole sympathy party, lets try and find out just where the hell we are."

[HB: That is way creepy.] [Joint RP with Tundra! Yay, it was so much fun writing this!]
“We want to see the city too!” A voice suddenly sounded from down the hall. “Jassie, I thought you were asleep... Elia and Sam, you too.” Cainn turned to see the three Abraxians standing before him. “After everything that’s happened?” Sam raised an eyebrow. “It was a bit hard...” “Very well, I shall take you all.” “Actually, that isn’t possible.” Heirbert spoke up. “I only have suits for four people.” “It’s okay,” mumbled Tobias quickly. “I’ll stay behind, you go ahead.” Cainn could tell he was up to something, but said nothing to stop him. The suits were four after all and Tobias’ decision made things a lot easier.
"What suits exactly are we talking about...?" Elia asked suspiciously. "These things..." the old Upela opened a dusty drawer and pulled out four furry pieces of leather. When he let them unfold, they looked like a pair of tight pants with fur on them, just like the one Heirbert had on his legs. Elia quickly cemented a scowl onto her face. "You're kidding right?" "Oh and this isn't the end of it..." he went on and pulled out some grey objects, which looked like something between shoes and hooves. At this point, Jaspar burst out laughing, tears rolling down his face. "If you want to visit the city and fit in, you must look like one of us..." "Ew..." Jaspar muttered, but picked up one of the suits and inspected it anyway. "You all look like...you know, ‘that’?" "Well yes... I mean the fur colour changes now and then but it's just like me in every other way..."
Sam eyed Cainn, but said nothing, and picked up one of the suits for himself. Elia muttered but snatched a suit. "How the hell do you get into these things?" She snapped agitated. Jaspar giggled as he stroked the fur on the suits. "Come on lady, if Cainn can get into them, so can you!" "Why do you have so many anyway?" "You never know.... these things are hard to make and they get ruined easily. Cainn tends to get himself into trouble often, like one time-" "Yes, they get the point." Cainn pushed the fake hooves on his feet. "Lets hurry." The Abraxian trio scrambled into the suits, clumsily. Elia didn't appreciate the tone of Cainn's voice, but decided that, for now, it would be best to stay quiet and assess the situation before taking any action. This was all too new, and happening much to fast for her to be in her comfort zone. She did not like feeling out of control.
Jaspar however was relishing it, running around making "clip-clop" sounds with his mouth and nudging Sam like he was a horse. Sam merely smiled, his thoughts on other things. Cainn noticed his distractions, the blonde's gaze kept flickering over to him, but fortunately, his attentions seemed more fixated on Elia, whose guns were still sitting prominently in their halters. "I'M DONE!!!" Jaspar threw his arms in the air when he was bored of playing horse and grinned broadly at the Upela. "Actually... there's one more thing..." Heirbert said and a grin formed on his face. Jaspar's face fell. "You'll have to take your shirts off." And he pointed to his bare chest. Jaspar's grin returned, but Elia's eyes grew wide. "And in your case lady..." Cainn added. "Everything..."
Jaspar cocked his head on one side, "Don't worry Elia, you've got nothing to flash anyway." He mocked, in a sing song manner. The girl fumed angrily. "You REALLY don't expect me to strip?! This is ridiculous! There ain't no way I'm doing that!!!" "My dear girl, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Every Upela is bare, it is completely natural." Heirbert smiled in a comforting way. Elia's stern demeanour slipped slightly with a blush, as Jaspar's hoarse, raucous laughter echoed in her ears. "Fine..." She muttered "Fine, ya bastards, but don't think if I hear one of ya make any funny comments I won't fucking rip ya to shreds," her accent thick with fury as she removed her jacket and black tank top, leaving her small sport bra on show. "Come on Eliaaaaaa, all the way now girl." Jaspar giggled and winked before ducking as Elia threw her clothes at him. "Fucking bastards." She muttered, launching her bra at Jaspar, avoiding eye contact with anyone. She stood with her arms crossed, covering up her small breasts, hair over her face in embarassment.
Jaspar mock screamed as the underwear wrapped around his neck. "It's attacking me!!!" Sam rolled his eyes and removed his shirt, revealing a small circular tattoo above his left breast. "Behave Jaspar. Strip." He sighed and threw his own parka and blue t-shirt at the red head. Jaspar rolled his eyes dramatically, but also removed his jacket and shirt and threw them back at Sam, who caught them all, and folded them neatly. Cainn remained apathetic. Completely indifferent, he didn't even bother looking at the woman's bare body.
"So..." Jaspar then formed a cocky smile, turning to Heirbert. "You don't have a penis then, eh?" Cainn barely contained a laugh. "Jaspar! Don't be rude!!!" Sam nearly shrieked in embarrassment. "Not we don't," the Upela shook his head. "We reproduce through... our mouths." Jaspar's eyes grew wide and shuddered. "Ick..." He frowned. "Actually...." A smirk crept onto his face, and Sam turned bright red. "Jaspar..." "You guys are pathetic..." Cainn shook his head. "What?!" Jaspar moaned loudly. "Just remind me never to kiss an Upela!" He winked. "Who knows what I could catch!" "Oh and Jassie... don't stare too much when we go out there..." Jaspar muttered and bowed his head; like a schoolboy that had been caught looking up girls skirts. "Come on then, we don't have all night!" Cainn led the three Abraxians out the house and to the road, which would eventually lead them to the centre of the city.
Jaspar shivered and hopped up and down, arms folded over his chest to keep himself warm. "Brrrr, why is it so chilly?!" "It is night-time Jaspar." Sam grinned. "Man up, you baby." Elia snapped as she walked briskly just in front of the group, close enough to not go in the wrong direction, but far enough forward so she didn't feel self conscious about being exposed. Having her chest on show in front of the Demon she'd been chasing for years was not something she'd expected to be doing, and not something she appreciated. Jaspar stuck out his tongue, and muttered something about bee stings; a subtle mockery of Elia's small chest. "The Upelas are used to this temperature. It just seems cold to you," shrugged Cainn, not affected by the weather. "And it's always night-time here... hence the name and all." "No sun?" Jaspar pouted and frowned, the demon had always appreciated the sunlight, more so than those that shared his blood. "No sun..." he shook his head, then he spoke a bit louder. "Elia, must you really walk that far ahead? I may have sharp teeth, but I don't bite." Elia ignored Cainn's comment, but slightly decreased her pace, not wanting to let on that she found the whole situation incredibly uncomfortable. "There is no need to feel uncomfortable. A body is nothing to be ashamed of." Elia glared at Cainn, her emerald eyes glittering in the starlight. "Who said anything about being uncomfortable?" She snapped. "Oh no one, no one... I was speaking generally..." Cainn formed a lop-sided grin. Elia turned her head away from Cainn, and stared straight ahead. Why am I stuck here with these idiots? What the hell is going on? I should be back at Headquarters by now. She thought, her eyes narrowed.
Jaspar hopped along the path, enjoying the suit; humming a little jazzy ditty as he went. Cainn noticed Elia's hands twitch to her side; where her guns would normally rest. "So Cainn." Elia forced herself to speak, trying to block out the noise coming from Jaspar. "I've got a question fer ya." “Shoot," he pushed a purple plant that stood in his way away and moved closer to the woman, his gaze fixed on her eyes. "We're in a city, inhabited by these Upela...things..." She allowed a soft smile to play around on her face, but her usual scowl was set firmly on her brow as normal, giving her an almost threatening smirk. "And then there's you..." She allowed the sentence to trail off, knowing that Cainn and Sam would realise the intention of the comment; a question in disguise, but allowing the not-so-bright Jaspar to continue with his only-just-in-tune humming. "Yes there is... you must be precise... what is it that you ask?" Cainn raised an eyebrow, knowing exactly what the woman meant, but wanting to push her. "You are not an Upela." Elia turned her head to Cainn and stared into his deep black eyes, watching his silver pupils flicker. "I am not an Upela?!" Cainn made a very dramatic voice and looked down his body. "Oh my! So it would seem." It was apparent in Elia's face that she was not amused. Jaspar turned his head to the conversation. "So... wait, if you're not an Upela... what are you?" He frowned. Sam raised a hand to his head in exasperation.
Cainn's mind raced, he had to think as fast as he could, but act as normally as possible. "I am an elf." He decided. "This is not my world, just as it is not yours..." "Don't look like an elf.." Jaspar muttered sulkily. "There are more than one species of Elf, Jaspar." Sam smiled, "Give Cainn some credit, I think he knows what species he is." He laughed playfully, soaking up the atmosphere; he wasn't used to seeing so many stars, the smog of Abraxia made it nigh impossible to see anything other than cloud in built up areas. A stab in Cainn's chest. Not a physical one of course, but a mental pain. It was there just for a moment, when Sam spoke, and then it was gone. Yes... who doesn't know what species they are after all? Is there a man out there who does not know his identity? "Yes there are many different species of Elf..." Cainn said with a calm tone. "Where I come from though, there is only one." "Woah woah woah, let's backtrack there a second." Elia interrupted. "This ain't your world, but you're all chummy with the locals? How long have you been here?!" "Did you cross over like us too Cainn?" Sam asked. "I... I crossed over the same way you did, yes." It was true. The only way to cross to a different world was through a Window. "But it happened a while ago... I though I was the only one..." "That must have been hard for you." Sam smiled sympathetically at Cainn. "What was your world like?"
Cainn blinked a couple of times. Why were they asking him those things? He was supposed to be the one getting the information... "It was... beautiful... yes... Very green, beautiful nature full of life and all sorts of different species and animals... never a quiet moment! But it's in the past now..." "Wow, sounds gorgeous." Sam grinned, unaware of Cainn's apathy. "Do you miss it at all? I mean, being by yourself, you must miss all your friends and family right?" "Sam." Jaspar frowned, not liking how personal the questions were. He knew Sam was desperate for a normal life; to make friends and meet people, but he didn't trust Cainn. Something in his words didn't seem...real. "It is pointless to mourn for things which are lost. What if I miss it? I cannot be there now and that's what matters." Replied Cainn, gritting his teeth and avoiding the man's gaze. "As for my family... they are all dead." And he was certain that was true. "I'm sorry." Sam apologised. "I didn't mean to pry." "Doesn't matter..." he shrugged it off.
"But we can get home right?" Jaspar piped up, "Sam said that thing about that library book! That's gotta give us some hope right?" His voice was quickly becoming whiney. "There's no way in hell I'm staying here for the rest of my life! Stuck with, her. He motioned to Elia, with a look of disgust on his face. "She'll kill me if we don't get home soon!!!" "What did you say?" The man's dark eyes widened. "She'll kill me!!!" Jaspar waved his arms around in the air wildly. "There's only so long she'll wait, and if there's no chance of return; BOOM, I've got a bullet in my back!" Sam fell silent and walked with his head down. "No, not that!" Cainn grasped Jaspar's arm. "About the library! It's that book, you've mentioned it before!" His grip tightened. "What other details can you give me?"
"Only what I said before I'm afraid." Sam sighed heavily. "It was mainly illustrations of the universe, there was only an introductory paragraph rambling on about Universe crossing. As I said, most of the pages were ripped out, so I didn't pay the book much attention. I was only on filing duty anyway. The book was marked as one to be stored, they didn't want people taking it out, as the author had been branded a heretic by the church." "Can you try to remember what those pages said? Anything at all!" Cainn let go of Jaspar's arm and went closer to Sam. Then as he realised just how desperate he sounded, he added, "It is important, if we want to get back to our home-worlds..."
"And if I wanna stay alive." Jaspar muttered in a monotone, not liking the fact that Cainn didn't seem to care whether he lived or died. "Oh relax, she won't kill you, stop being such a pussy!" Cainn rolled his eyes and Jaspar scoffed, eyeing Elia warily, who was smirking something horrid. "I really can't recall... I'm sorry.” Sam spoke up, ignoring the other two. “The only thing I can remember was something about Windows, like looking into a block of flats, each world being visible or something. It was written in such an odd fashion, the writing itself was barely legible... it barely classed as a scrawl!" The man’s eyes sparked with recognition. The Windows, everything Sam described, was all too familiar to Cainn. Still he tried not to let it show. "I wish I could remember more...I just, want to go home." Elia giggled almost girlishly, "As soon as you step through, you're mine." Jaspar made a strangled noise and ran to hide behind Sam.
Cainn was trying to think, but the Abraxian's constant mumbling was preventing him from doing so. How had that book gotten there? Who had written it? Could they still find it? Jaspar said something inappropriate to Elia and she shouted back in a similar manner. "PEOPLE!" Cainn stood between them. "Cut it out! Or at least, if you're that desperate to kill him sweet-cheeks, go ahead and do it now, get it over with!" Elia pouted and flicked her hair out of her eyes. "I can't." She snapped. Jaspar giggled. "We made a deal." "A deal?" Cainn frowned. "You don't know these guys like I do. Sammy boy here obviously has some clue of how to get us home, but he wouldn't do a damn thing if Jaspar were killed. I ain't risking that chance! Fact is, if the truth were known, the bastard would probably go an' kill himself or somethin' stupid. Then we'd be back at square one! I'd have the demon's head, but no way of getting it back t' headquarters. So, we've come to an agreement that I won't kill him until we get onto home soil." "She's a bounty hunter don't you know?" Jaspar hissed at Cainn.
"It's almost sweet. Sickening really though; a right ‘Romeo and Juliet’ scenario." Sam rolled his eyes at Elia's comment. "But which one's Juliet, I wonder?" She smirked as Jaspar's playful grin quickly turned into a sulk. "Romeo and Juliet?" Those were the only words Cainn paid attention to. "Elia, how do you know about that story? It is not from your world!" Then in an instant he regretted saying so - after all, the story was not from his "world" either. Elia shrugged. "That Shakespeare guy is well famous, nobody knows what planet he came from min' you. But his books are in every library in Abraxia, not that there are many libraries, but..." She rolled her eyes. "So what? We get loads of imports, he's probably just from a planet nearby, right? No big deal." Cainn laughed in his mind. Which planet Shakespeare came from... If only she knew that he was from a different universe entirely! He'd met him once... when he had been alive... Cainn never thought much of his plays. Especially Romeo and Juliet - he had never imagined that such an idiotic story would become so well known.
"Yes... yes of course..." Cainn shrugged it off. The woman had said nothing about how he had come to know Shakespeare, so it would be best to change the subject. "So... getting used to the suits already?" "I think they're awesome!" Jaspar grinned, completely unselfconscious, regardless of the vast mesh of scars on his back, the pale tissue of which glinted in the moonlight. "Yeah they're quite comfortable actually." Sam smiled, glad they were off the topic of guns and bullets. Elia merely frowned. "Aw, lady grumpy doesn't find the suits comfortable enough for her?" "If you had tits you'd understand." She snapped. "But Elia, you don't have tits," Jaspar said in a soothing voice, "you're imaging things again!" He sighed. "You're being oversensitive..." "You're being a jerk." Elia snapped back.
"Now enough of this, we have reached the centre, we need to lay low. Wear these..." and he handed them some wigs, which had a pair of long ears and horns attached to them. "What the fuck is this, dress up?!" "OH MY GOD THIS IS SO COOL!" Jaspar gasped as he put on the wigs Cainn's pale skin stood out, but there was nothing he could do about that at the moment. He would just say he was ill. "Hey, I know we're not as deathly white as you Cainn, but aren't we gonna stick out like a sore thumb?" Jaspar smirked, motioning to Sam's unusual tattoo, and his own pattern of scars, their pale skin was the least of his worries. "We won't stick out. They are Upelas, that doesn't mean they all look the same. Some have scars... well maybe not that many, but still... Others have tattoos... don't worry... On a final note: Elia, try not to bark, Jassie, don't stare at women, it is not polite, Sam... well... nothing, let's go..."

[continued this with Tun xD ]
Hundreds of colourful vehicles rushed in the highway above them, making almost no sound as they flew. The buildings around them had gotten larger, and much more intimidating. Almost everything was made out of soothing blue, pink and purple crystals, with the occasional green. The roads, as well as the walls of many buildings, were full of strange, round and fluffy plants, some with flowers, others with vines, but all equally beautiful. Upelas walked past them, most of them with smiles and grins on their faces, not paying them much attention.
“So, what do you want to see?” Cainn asked, casually. "Wow..." Sam breathed. "This... this is incredible!" The blond turned around and gestured to the buildings towering above them. "Anything! Everything!" He breathed, mouth open in awe. "This is just... my gosh!" Elia surveyed her surroundings, surprised by how beautiful the city was, but said nothing nonetheless. Her thoughts were her own, and she wasn't going to share a moment like this with anyone else, let alone people she despised. Jaspar was more enthusiastic, but said nothing, like Elia. He merely grinned softly, but the glitter in his eyes was more than enough for Cainn to realise that he was stunned by the place.
“We can go to the marketplace, or go to the park, or to a restaurant, or perhaps to the E-square, also known as Entertainment Square! What will it be?” "The marketpla-" Sam began, before he was interrupted by Jaspar yelling; "ENTERTAINMENT SQUARE!" "And you Elia, what do you say?" "Me?" She raised and eyebrow. "I hardly think it matters. Surely the place that'll help us get home." "Aw come on Elia, don't be such a kill joy!" Jaspar ran over and nudged her lightly, an action to which she promptly punished him for with a swift punch to the ribs. "Well... there is nothing there that will help you get home... We will need to search outside the Dome and find the portal that brought you here. For now, lets just go to the E-square..." Jaspar punched the air triumphantly and ran over to dance with Sam, who laughed and joined in with the fun. Elia simply scowled and muttered. "Don't know why we're wasting our time..." “Living your life doesn’t mean wasting your time...” Cainn whispered, more to himself than to the woman. Elia didn't hear Cainn's comment, though he suspected that even if she had, it wouldn't have prompted a reply.
Cainn led them to the street on their left, through a small park and then to a wider road. Eventually, it ended in front of a large, spherical building. “This is the E-sqare?” Elia raised an eyebrow. “Yes it is.” “Then why is it round?” “Because it just is. Now lets go in!” Elia rolled her eyes but did as she was told, she didn't want to get lost in a city she didn't know, and her waist felt empty without her weapons sitting there; comforting her. Jaspar was now squealing excitedly and clapping as they entered, though a gently hand on his shoulder from Sam soon calmed him down; after all, they didn't want to draw attention to themselves.
“The E-square is by far the largest and most glorious building in Moonlight City.” Cainn began to explain as they passed the great archway, entering. “It’s situated neatly in the centre, it is the most visited place – Upelas spend more time here than in their homes!” "I can see why, " Sam stared up at the ceiling, the architecture of the place was breathtaking, "This place is magnificent." “Ah but that’s not the reason... Do you know that Upelas don’t use money? They are one of the few species who don’t, it’s fascinating!” Then Cainn gave himself a mental slap. How would he know about how many other worlds used money? Quickly he continued, “Yes yes, no money, their society works quite differently from mine and probably yours...” Sam frowned briefly at the oddity of Cainn's comment, but soon let it slip his mind as his curiosity got the better of him. These new surroundings were so bright and colourful; a refreshing change from the dirt and grime of Abraxia.
“The reason I brought the money issue up...” Continued Cainn as they walked down a corridor. “Since Upelas are quite advanced technologically, they have the machines do most of their jobs for them. Of course they work too, everyone has to offer something to the society, but they can choose to do anything they want! As a result, Moonlight City has incredibly many entertainers! And by entertainers I mean stage performers, actors, musicians, artists, athletes and Upelas with all sorts of different talents! This is where they all perform, compete, or exhibit their creations.” “Again we have choices. We could go to the theatre, an art exhibition, a talent show... Oh and let’s see what race is on today!” Cainn walked towards a wall on their far left. Strangely enough, it was white. Then he extended his arm and touched the wall. Immediately it grew brighter and flickered on – it was a large screen. Jaspar jumped back in surprise "Now... fire eating... nah... swimming... no.... Romeo and Juliet, definitely not... Ah! Look at this! There is a jet race starting in just a few moments!" "Jet race! Jet race! Jet race!!" Jaspar began chanting. "The jet race it is! I haven't seen one in a while. The extraordinary thing is that the drivers build their jets on their own, from scratch!"
They were lucky to find seats even though they had arrived at the last moment. Soon the jet race would start and the stadium was full – all 100.000 seats of it.

When all the Upelas were sitting neatly in their seats the lights faded out, with the exception of the one illuminating the centre. On a podium under the light stood an Upela that looked not much older than Heirbert. Bringing his mouth close to a small device, which served as a microphone, he spoke.
“What’s he saying?” Whispered Jaspar. “He’s just welcoming everyone. You know, the usual ‘thank you for coming to see the race’ and now he’s explaining the rules,” Cainn mumbled back as discreetly as possible. “What are they?” “What do you think they are?! You finish first, you win!” Cainn rolled his eyes. “Now stop talking, you’re attracting too much attention.” With a frown Jaspar sat back and waited for the Upela to finish talking.
It didn’t take long; just a few minutes later another Upela had stepped up – a young female – and was calling out the names of the participants. “Grojo Typhe Erasmus!” The crowd cheered as the Upela walked out of a gate and waved at them. “Eleyna Velshina Delace!” Again there was cheering, but not as loud as before. “Hey that’s a chick!” Exclaimed Jaspar as Eleyna came forth. “Yes it is. Both male and female Upelas compete in this race,” shrugged Cainn. Before Jaspar could say anything on that, the next name was called out.
“Misha Alessanro Haifer!” As soon as she uttered that name there was a roar in the crowd, the Upelas stood up and cried out in excitement. “Woah! The crowd’s gone crazy!” Yelled Jaspar as he applauded. “They all love Misha when it comes to racing and mechanics! He’s been champion for years...” Cainn shouted back, his voice barely audible over the cheers of the crowd. “Misha... can you come forth?” The female Upela spoke up through her microphone and the crowd began to quiet down. “Where is he? Where is Misha?” Cainn could hear the Upelas around wonder. “Misha? Has anyone seen him?” The Upela on the podium shifted uncomfortably, turning to the other racers.
“What’s going on?” Whispered Sam, after a long time of silence. “Misha isn’t here...” There was worry in Cainn’s voice. “Well can’t they just skip him?” Jaspar shrugged. “It doesn’t work that way. Nobody misses a race without notifying anyone – especially Misha who lives for things like this. He wouldn’t miss it for anything except...” “Except what? Cainn... except what...?” “We need to get out. Now.” Cainn jumped out of his chair and pulled up the three Abraxians. “What the hell is goin’ on?” Elia pushed the man back and released herself from his grip. “Trouble, that’s what’s going on! Moving now, explaining later!”

[Joint RP with Tundra here! And very soon I will be posting another one!]
"Trouble? What trouble?" Sam called out, confusion apparent in his voice, as they began to run. Jaspar said nothing but made various whimpering noises as he twisted his ankle, unused to wearing the hooves of the costume. Elia was the strongest runner out of all of them—whilst Jaspar was debatably the quickest, he kept stumbling and tripping. The woman was sure footed and focused on getting the hell away from the so-called trouble.
"I said explaining later!" Shouted Cainn, frustrated that the Abraxians couldn't even run in a straight line.
Then as they exited the Stadium and ran down the corridor, Cainn spotted an Upela following them, not too far behind. "Hey you there!" He called out. "Stop!" Of course they didn't stop—they sped up instead.
"Shit!! Now we're being followed?!" Jaspar whined. "I CAN'T TAKE THIS SORT OF PRESSURE WHEN IT'S SO COLD!!" "Man up you fucking pansy!!" Elia yelled angrily, not looking behind her.
"Shuttup!" Cainn growled at them. "If he realises you're not speaking his language we're in a LOT of trouble!" Shit, Elia thought to herself. What a way to slip up... rookie error, what the hell is up with me this evening?
As they ran and the Upela gained on them, the corridor seemed to abruptly end. "A dead end?" Sam quietly but anxiously muttered to Cainn. "Of course not! If you look closely you'll see that it turns right. Immediately after that there is a set of stairs, we must hurry down there." Sam nodded and hastily made his way around the corner, grabbing Jaspar by the hand as the demon stumbled yet again, making sure his grip was tight so he wouldn't loose him.
Elia noticed Cainn's pace falter and turned to him. "I don't know what the hell you're playing at but I thought the aim of this little outing was t' stay OUTTA trouble." "If you want to stay OUTTA trouble I strongly suggest going down those stairs," Cainn said patronisingly.
"Don't talk to me like I'm a child!" Elia fumed and glared at the much taller man, practically leaping down the stairs with surprising agility, leaving him behind her.
Cainn would have replied with a sly and sarcastic comment, were the Upela not upon them. Not making a sound he let the three Abraxians make their way down the stairs while he turned towards their pursuer.
"Excuse me, how may I help you?" He politely addressed him. "What are you running from?" The Upela narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "I'm afraid there has been a misunderstanding, let me explain," casually Cainn walked around the corner, so that the stairs would be out of sight. As soon as the Upela followed him a wicked grin formed on his face.
"What are you-" however the Upela never got to finish his sentence.
Cainn reached out with his arm and "grabbed" the unfortunate Upela's soul. He drew it out slowly and carefully, feasting upon it as he did so. His eyes rolled back and his breathing quickened, while he tried to be as quick as possible. When he was done, the lifeless body of the Upela stumbled to the floor and Cainn was left feeling somewhat sick. A very short time had passed since the last time he had fed and he barely had enough room inside him for another soul. But it had been the only way... If he had killed the Upela using any other method there would be proof of the attack. By sucking his soul out it looked as if the Upela had had a simple heart attack.
Still a bit dizzy, Cainn made his way down the stairs, tripping over the last few steps. Now where had those Abraxians gone?
Jaspar and Sam had slowed down; Sam because he was concerned about where Cainn had suddenly vanished to, Jaspar because he was still clamped to Sam's palm.
"You don't reckon the Upela caught up with him do you?" Sam spoke in hushed tones, not wanting to get them into any more trouble than they might already be in. "What's happened?" "Something about Cainn strikes me as the kind of person to weasel his slimy mitts outta anything," Elia snarled distastefully. "Who cares anyway... he's hardly been helpful," Jaspar muttered moodily, rubbing at his ankles, not meaning what he said but bitter nonetheless at the situation he'd been placed in.
"Did ya miss me?" Cainn formed a lop-sided grin when he finally caught up with the others, but his eyes were glowing brighter from the soul overload, so he avoided eye contact. He also tried not to move too much or too suddenly, because the sick, dizzy feeling still hadn't left him.
Cainn's comment met with dry looks from the Abraxians, except for perhaps Sam, who seemed relieved that their guide was still in one piece. Cainn noticed Jaspar's gaze was fixed firmly on his face, his piercing blue eyes scrutinizing him, the distrust almost painfully apparent. "Glad to have you back." Sam chuckled and squeezed Jaspar's hand playfully, breaking his eye contact with the nauseous man before them.
"So where's our friend?" The irritated monotone came from Elia, who casually sauntered towards Cainn. "Shouldn't we still be fleeing?" She smirked. "Oh... I calmly explained to him that he had no reason to worry and that he should go back to the stadium," his voice as innocent sounding as possible. "Bull," she snapped. "One moment we're fleeing, from what you're making out to be, big big trouble, next it's all like 'Oh hey guys, just a misunderstanding, okay thanks.' I mean come on!" "Well you're right about one thing, we should still be getting back. This is not the best place to be right now. So walk and I will explain as we do so. Of course you are welcome to go back to the Stadium if you want."
Elia frowned, but fell silent. It wouldn't be wise to cause a scene, but somewhere in her gut she felt that something wasn't right. This was not a good place to be... and she suspected they were not with the right person either.
"The crime rates here are very low, still there is crime," Cainn begun to explain. "And since it doesn't happen very often the Upelas go crazy every time something bad happens. This is a very closed community; if an Upela goes missing then everyone will help find him or her and they won't rest until they do. After all there aren't many places to hide since no one can leave the dome."
"So... we're stuck here?" "Of course not. We are not Upelas. The air outside is only poisonous to them." "The reason we ran is this: if Misha disappeared that means something bad has happened to him. And the four of us look quite suspicious so we would attract too much unwanted attention."
"And running makes us seem LESS suspicious." Elia scoffed and rolled her eyes. "At that moment most of the Upelas were distracted, as you can see no one is following us now. All we need to do is walk back to Heirbert's place." "Then let's get going." Sam clenched his hand around Jaspar's again and nodded, wanting to stay away from trouble...

[continued the RP with Tun. This is a conversation between Cainn and Elia. It was brilliant writing it.] [Make sure you have read the previous RP first]
Cainn was sitting on a crystal bench just outside the house, gazing at the brilliant sky. "In all the years of my life..." he whispered to himself "... I've never seen it so clear. Something is wrong..."
When they had made it back from the Entertainment Square Jaspar, Elia and Sam had gone into the house and were most likely talking with Heirbert and Tobias. On the other hand Cainn had decided to stay outside for a while and enjoy the peace and quiet of the night. Which was rather strange, since he had always been bored quite easily and wanted things to happen all the time. Apparently too much had happened in too little time, even for Cainn.
That Upela, Misha... he must have been the one on the jet outside the dome. They will never find him, he’s at the bottom of the sea now. Things are going to get really ugly here. We should get moving... but where to? Not Abraxia yet... Maybe Urania... They may know something about this...
Snapping out of his thoughts he sensed a presence approach. It was Elia who was making her way toward him.
"What are you doing?" She sighed and shook her head, her long dark hair fluttering in the slight breeze. "Just thinking. You should try that from time to time," his eyebrow was raised. "What's that supposed to mean?" "Nothing, nothing..." He laughed at the annoyed expression on the woman's face. "Come on, sit down. Despite the teeth, I don't bite." The dizziness had at last given away and Cainn was in the mood for conversation—he wanted to know as much as possible about Abraxia.
The woman however had other plans.
"I don't like making a habit of sitting with complete strangers I have nothing but distrust for." She spoke in a bored manner, but Cainn could tell she was riled.
"Okay suit yourself. Though I doubt standing is more comfortable than this lovely bench."
"Don't speak to me as though I'm a child. I thought we'd been through this."
"Aren't you one?" His grin widened. "You're so edgy and whiny all the time!"
"You don't know me."
"Your point being?"
"Don't think that you do." She exhaled heavily and sat down on the bench heavily.
"Ah so you are tired of standing. And I never claimed to know you. What use would that be to me? I merely stated what I observed: edgy and whiny!"
"I ain't as bad as the freak." She frowned and motioned to the house.
"Oh he isn't that bad. A bit intellectually challenged but other than that completely harmless..." to Cainn at least.
"You... you honestly think that, don't you?" Elia looked questioningly at Cainn, surprised at the conclusion he drew.
"Well I don't feel threatened by him. Not to mention he's not half as suspicious of me as you are!"
"Then don't give me a reason to be." Momentarily, she wanted to warn Cainn about Jaspar, but thought better of it, especially after the turn of events that evening.
"What more reason do you have than Jassie or Sam?"
"I think you'll find it's none of your business. Jaspar is retarded and Sam just overly trusts people... which is surprising in itself. Dumb bastard tries to see the good in people, overlooks the bad in favour of it." She shook her head. "You jest can't do that..."
"Yes of course... It's much better to overlook the good and see only the bad like you do, huh?"
"Yes. It is."
Cainn shook his head. He wasn't one to talk about the subject of people. "Why even bother looking?" He mumbled after a while of silence. "Good and bad are simply points of view."
Elia glanced upwards at Cainn, and looked at him closely. "I guess... I guess that people want to find reassurance in themselves, by finding themselves in other people," she muttered back.
"That is pointless. There is no one... no one out there who is the same. You cannot find yourself in other people because you are completely alone." Cainn was surprised at himself—his cool and collected attitude was giving away. "I mean... it should be enough to find reassurance in themselves on their own..."
"I never said it was a clever thing to do. It's just what... some...people believe."
"And what do you believe?"
Elia shrugged. "I don't believe anything. It's dumb to put blind faith in something."
"It's one thing to have blind faith and another to live a life without believing in anything, not even yourself," observed Cainn. The conversation was getting much deeper than what he was used to, but he could see no way of backing out of it. Not to mention that he found it rather interesting. Maybe if he could keep it up long enough, he could earn Elia's trust and learn more about Abraxia.
"Please," she scoffed. "All this world is, is one event after another. You jest need to find a goal, and obtain it. That's all there is to it. If you ain't got that. You got nothin' t' live for."
Nothing to live for... that struck a chord in Cainn. Did he have something to live for? What was his purpose? "Aren't you happy enough living for life? Just for the experience of it?"
This time the woman began laughing. It wasn't a warm happy laugh, but a cold harsh one that echoed in the night sky. "Happy living life? What's there to be happy about?!"
The woman's laughter sent shivers down Cainn's spine—it was rather eerie. "What is there NOT to be happy about? Look around you! You just crossed to another world! And there are countless of different worlds out there, parallel to each other. Is that not extraordinary? They way the universe works? The way life works?"
"All parallel eh? You sure know a lot about this..." She looked meaningfully at Cainn, almost accusingly. "Either way, each one is just another form of hell." She stood up and stared intently at him. "All parallel to each other."
"It's pure logic," Cainn quickly said. "They only way for the worlds to exist is for them to be parallel to each other. Is that not obvious? And saying they are all from hell is ridiculous! You haven't been to them all now have you?"
Elia shook her head and sighed. "If I'm honest with you Cainn, I don't really care about the world around me. And, for someone that seems so worldly wise... you're such a hypocrite. I've never seen anyone as locked behind their own walls as you."
Cainn opened his mouth to speak, but no words could form. They all seemed to get caught up in his throat. For the first time in aeons he was left speechless.
"Not so clever now, are we?" There was no mockery or amusement in Elia's voice, just the simple fact of the matter itself.
Cainn pushed himself up from the bench and before the woman could react he held Elia by her collar. His eyes seem to become darker as he brought his face close to hers, giving her a deathly glare. "You know nothing of hell..." he whispered in a hard tone, then as quickly as he had grabbed her, Cainn pushed the woman back, turned away and left, without once looking back.
A lesser person would have flinched or cowered, but this merely confirmed Elia's feeling about Cainn; she didn't trust him. She smirked nastily to herself, almost proud that she'd touched a nerve. "Don't think I'm not watching you!" She yelled after him, not expecting a reply, not needing one, she merely wanted her words to resonate in his ears.

(Joint RP with Tundra!)
Jaspar sat at the table with his head in his hands, trying to keep awake, ignoring Sam's pleas for him to get his trousers back on.
Tobias stepped into the room with Heirbert following close by, both of them wondering what the commotion was, and got a shock to see Sam pleading with Jasper to put his pants on. As they all spoke, Heirbert translated. "So... Erm... How was the trip out?"
"Cold." Jaspar muttered. "It was, eventful." Sam sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "There was some commotion down at the Entertainment Square..something about a missing rider. Oh come on Jaspar you were complaining you were cold a minute ago." He groaned exasperatedly, trousers in hand. "My legs are fucking itchy from those damn furry things!!!"
Tobias was... Intrigued to say the least. A missing rider in a place meant to be as peaceful as this was strange. "A missing rider? Could it have been an accident, or something? Heirbert told me this place was peaceful, with barely any conflict at all..."
"No idea, either way Cainn said it'd be a problem for us..foreigners..to stay in the area, so we got back as soon as we could." Said Sam, throwing the trousers at Jaspar, who cried out in surprise as they wrapped themselves around his throat.
"I see..." Tobias was somewhat troubled by this news. The potential implications of this could be terrible.
"There is a Upela I was supposed to meet. Apparently he was a genius at mechanics... Do you think maybe he had something to do with the fliers? I mean, he could be a mechanic or something, part of the race team? It seems like it would be one of the few mechanic jobs in this planet."
"I don't know, I think his name was...Meeia? Minna?" Sam frowned and tried to remember.
Tobias felt relieved as Heirbert's translation got to him. The name was so different to the one he had to see. "The Upela I have to meet up with is called Misha. Did you hear of Misha at all?"
"Misha Alessanro Haifer." Jaspar muttered under his breath, barely audible. Heirbert's ears pricked up. "It's him." He nodded at Tobias. "How'd you remember that Jas?" Sam frowned and cocked his head on one side. Jaspar merely shrugged and threw his trousers on the floor, itching his legs fiercely.
"You heard of him? Great! Any idea where he is? As soon as I have a suit, I'll get out there and find him..." Tobias' excitement made him all too eager to find Misha, unfortunately for him, he did not yet know the truth. Although he is a genius with machines, he is not quite so adept at picking up on hints within conversation. "He's the one that's missing Tobias." Heirbert said softly.
"Oh... Oh shit... You were close to him, weren't you Heirbert?"
Tobias placed an arm over Heirbert's shoulder, in an attempt at a comforting hug. Unfortunately, the old Upela did not understand the gesture. He shrugged it off and glared at Tobias. "Just what were you going to do?" Tobias flinched away from Heirbert, with his hands out in front of him. "I am sorry, Heirbert... In my culture, it is a gesture that is meant to give comfort... I didn't intend to make you feel threatened."
Sam watched intently at the two, trying to pick up on the language but frowned as he struggled...he didn't like not understanding. "Saaaaam, my legs itch." Jaspar whined. "Hush Jaspar." Sam shushed the demon, who was continuing to scratch his legs, so much that it was beginning to draw blood.
Jaspar's situation seemed dire to Tobias, but not as bad as Heirbert's... "Is there anything I can do, Heirbert? Anything at all?"
Heirbert simply looked at him blankly. "Yes... Leave me be." At that, the Upela stood and walked out of the room, trying to keep his composure in front of his guests.
Sam blinked. "Heirbert?" He called after him quietly, but did not push the matter when he didn't reply. Jaspar looked up at Tobias with a sceptical look upon his face. "What did you do?" He chuckled, knowing that his words would not be understood
Tobias buried his head in his hands, not understanding Jaspar's words, yet he caught on to the tone of voice. He was the only one who could not be understood. Jaspar's itching was the only thing Tobias could recognise about them. He needed a break.
"Here." Tobias reached into a pocket in his labcoat and brought out a small box. In it was a number of different remedies, one of them for itchy skin. It was only enough for one dosage, and the instructions were in Krillian, but the diagrams were easy enough to understand. He placed the itchy skin remedy on the table and also left the kitchen. He opened the door outside and stepped out into the remainder of the day. Jaspar blinked. "What's that?" Sam asked. "I..I dunno." Jaspar frowned and picked up the box squinting at the packaging. "I think..I think he wants me to put it on my skin." He removed the medicine from the packaging and undid the lid, making noises of concentration as he applied it to the worst parts of his legs. Sam watched on and looked after Tobias. "I think we offended him."
As soon as Tobias stepped into the street outside, he realised his mistake... He hadn't put the Upela suit on! This was bad news... He started to head back to the door to go back into Heirbert's house, when a lone Upela appeared from an alleyway. He hadn't yet reached the door again, and the Upela was not used to seeing someone from outside... He had weapons on him, but none of them were quiet, and he didn't want to bring more violence to this peaceful city...
"Crap."
The Upela shouted. Tobias ran.
As he ran from the Upela, Tobias realised where he was headed... The city. This would be disatrous if he were to continue on the ground, but his jet-boots were lost, at the crushng depths of the sea, still attached to Caless. There was only one thing for it... As soon as he could, he would have to climb.
As they drew closer and closer to the city, Tobias could see buildings looming closer, but also many, many Upela around. Normally, he would be completely worn out after running this far, considering he is not exactly a prime physical specimen, but adrenaline kept him going. As he ran, he soon saw his chance. What looked like bins, next to a building with a low roof. Perfect.
Tobias ran, aiming for the bins, with a crate next to them. He stepped onto the crate, jumped up onto a bin and from there he jumped and grabbed the low roof of the building. In no time at all he climbed onto the roof, staring down at the Upela below.
"Dammit..."
More were aware of him now, some even pointing to him on the roof. Some were scared, others looked angry.
"Crapcrapcrapcrapcrap"
Tobias repeated these words as he began running across rooftops, hoping to find a way to escape the Upela. However, despite being a genius, he was not well suited for roof-jumping, and soon found himself falling to the ground. He landed face-first in the dirt, and when he looked up, he was surrounded.

Normally there weren’t many Upelas around Heirbert’s house as it was situated on the outskirts of the city. But strange things were happening that day and everyone was out searching for the missing Upela. The one who had seen Tobias happened to be Misha’s brother and in his terror and confusion, ran to warn the others of the strange creature he had encountered, tripping a few times on the way.
Cainn was near the edge of the dome, gazing at the moons and trying not the think about the conversation he’d just had with Elia. The cyan grass felt cold and wet under his bare feet. Not in the mood to play dress-up anymore he had discarded all the parts of his Upela suit, except for the leggings. Suddenly a loud scream reached his pointed ears. Rapidly turning around he caught sight of Tobias running and not too far behind him, an Upela rushing away to the opposite direction.
“You let yourself be seen. You of all people genius!” he muttered under his breath, immediately realising what had taken place.
Not wanting to waste any time he darted to Heirbert’s house, half flying as he did so, in his hurry. Of course he didn’t bother knocking, he simply barged in and called out the Upela’s name.
“Cainn! What happened?” Heirbert rushed in the room, unnerved.
Cainn’s mind was racing. “No time for explanations. You still have my ride, right?”
“Of course I do! I’ll go get it.” The old Upela anxiously rushed out of the room and made his way to the basement.
There followed an awkward silence, in which Cainn noticed that the Abraxians where in the room as well.
“Don’t ask what happened.” He snapped at them, though no one had uttered a word.
“...so what’s your ride?” Jaspar shrugged.
“My hover-board. I use it to ride the wind outside the Dome. Here it is...” At that point Heirbert walked in, carrying a long board made out of a strange kind of black crystal. On the rear two small jet engines were attached and a small fin was sticking out from underneath.
“What the-” Jaspar started but Cainn silenced him.
“Now if you’ll excuse me...” Without further ado, he grabbed hold of his hover-board and ran outside.
As soon as he was out of the door, Cainn jumped on his ride, pushed down on the pedal to start the engines and held the steering wheel with his left hand, using his other one to maintain his balance. Then he concentrated, trying to sense in which part of the city Tobias had fled to. When he had a basic idea, he opened his eyes, for he had closed them in order to concentrate, and flew as fast as the hover-board would go.

OC: Joint RP with HB! Also, I edited my previous post to fit! EDIT: New page, yay! Just want to point out that I've posted in the previous page as well Tobias was not too hard to spot - he was surrounded by a mob of Upelas, cornered against the edge of the Dome. Cainn pressed down on the peral of his board, causing it to fly forwards a bit faster. Tobias grimaced at the Upela surrounding him. He knew he wouldn't be understood, but he shouted anyway. "Get back! I don't want to do this..." He reached into one of his pockets, getting ready to unleash one of his devices if it was truly necessary... Cainn didn't want to be seen by those Upelas, but he didn't have another choice. Hopefully everything would happen so quickly that no one would have enough time to recognise him. Then again there was the option of leaving Tobbie there... but no, he was way too useful... Not to mention he could confess to the Upelas everything he knew about Cainn and Heirbert. As silently as possible Cainn flew to the crowd's direction. Tobias pulled a pair of dark goggles out of his pocked and pulled them over his eyes. As he did this, with his free hand he pulled out a small device, with a button on the side. He placed his thumb over the button, getting ready to use it, when he saw something flying above the crowd. "What the..." At last Cainn was able to catch Tobias' attention and get him to notice him. But then the man seemed at be trying to tell Cainn something... Tobias noticed the form flying towards him. Cainn. The only person apart from Heirbert who could understand him. Tobias grinned and pressed the button on the device, and shouted out to Cainn. "COVER YOUR EYES!" As soon as he heard those words Cainn shut his eyes and turned his head away, almost losing his balance on his board as he did so. Screaming was heard from the Upelas and Cainn was really tempted to peak and see what was going on. Resisting that urge, he grabbed better hold of the sail and slowed the board down. Tobias' eyes were shielded by his darkened goggles as he smiled into the dazzling light from his flashbang. It was reusable, and didn't actually explode, so he simply held it in his hand as he watched Cainn draw closer. He pressed the button one more time and the light turned off. "YOU CAN OPEN THEM NOW!" Around him, blinded Upelas stumbled into each other and into walls. Glad to have his sight back, Cainn sped up and lowered his board closer to the ground, skilfully evading any Upela who got in his way. “Jump on!” He cried to Tobias as his board hovered near him. “How long does the effect of that thing last for?” Tobias grabbed the board and hoisted himself on. He smiled as he looked down at the Upela, who were already starting to shake off the effects. "It is only a temporary measure, unless it is used for prolonged periods at close range. If it only lasts a few seconds, it may take a minute or two to get your sight back completely. If it lasts significantly longer, people can be permanently blinded." “Gotta be quick then... Hold on tight and don’t let go unless I tell you to, understand?” Tobias quickly nodded for an answer and wrapped his arms around the small mast. Immediately Cainn pushed down the pedal and the board jerked away from the ground, almost shaking the man off. “I said hold on!” Cainn yelled, with a sly smile on his face. He was used to riding on that board so there was no need for him to hold on to anything, apart from the steering wheel. Tobias shouted back at Cainn. "I am holding on!" "Hardly enough!" With another push on the pedal the board flew upwards, to the direction of the city's highway. "So, just where are we going?" Tobias tightened his grip as he asked Cainn this. He had not yet removed his goggles either, which made things slightly harder. “We need to get in the highway. It’s the quickest way out.” Carefully steering the jet-board he tried to approach the vehicles rushing past without attracting too much attention. Not that it was easy. Crystal hover-boards were not unusual in Moonlight City, but not many Upelas flew them outside the highway. Also there was the issue of the two of them not wearing their disguises. Tobias was taken aback by the knowledge they would notice them leaving. "So... What do we do?" “We fly. We’re quicker than they are. Then we find a portal to leave this world.” A swift push on the pedal, followed by a hard pull on the steering wheel allowed Cainn to manoeuvre the hover-board straight into the traffic. They nearly hit a couple of jets zooming past them, some Upelas swore at them for not being careful enough, but soon enough they sped up and joined the flow. Tobias looked worriedly at the ground below. His goggles still darkened his view, until he dared to remove one hand from the mast and removed them. They went safely into one of his many pockets as he watched the traffic around him. "We still need parts, for the babelic phishing device." Cainn’s didn’t bother answering; he just gave Tobias a death-glare. Getting parts was not the most important thing at that moment; he would rather focus on staying alive. They would have to get the parts in a different world. Tobias didn't notice the glare, however. He was busy watching the cars go by. As he watched, he reached one hand into his pocket and pulled out the wormhole device. They highway begun to go downwards as it reached the other end of the Dome; they would soon be leaving. Finally, Tobias saw what he was looking for. An Upela using some sort of communications technology. It looked a lot like a telephone, which seemed to be one of the few technologies that remained constant between worlds. He smiled as he fired one small wormhole into the car, right behind the driver, and one just below himself. He knelt down on the board, and reached his hand through, stealing the driver's phone instantly. As he hung up, he closed the wormhole. "And now we have some parts." A grin formed on Cainn face. “Awesome gizmo you got there Tobbie!” He wanted to ask more about the device, but there was no time, they had reached the end of the Dome and the highway went through a large tunnel. “What’s this?” Tobias looked around the tunnel in wonder. The cyan crystal walls gave everything in the outside world a soft blue hue. “It’s the only way to get from one Dome to another. It’s also our way out.” Tobias grinned. "Oh, good... we'll be out soon then?" Then a small realisation flickered across his mind. "Hang on a sec... How are we getting out, exactly?" “The crystal of the wall here is very weak...” Cainn let the words linger in the air. Then as Tobias said nothing, he added, “Someone can break through quite easily...” Tobias grimaced at Cainn's words. "Please tell me you're not suggesting what I think you are..." "Would you rather stay here?" "So you are suggesting that... Right..." "Any minute now... get ready!" At that, Cainn broke off from the rest of the traffic and flew to the right. "Oh bollocks." Tobias gripped the mast even harder. "Don't break don't break don't break." The crystal was weak indeed, but not weak enough to break simply by smashing the hover-board on it and Cainn knew that. A bit of magic would be required as well. Speeding up, he raised his right hand to the level of his eyes and reached for his telekinetic powers, pushing hard on the wall with them. Another powerful push was all it took and the crystal was smashed into a million pieces, just as the hover-board reached it, seemingly breaking from impact. Tobias heard a crash as he shut his eyes moments before impact. After the crash he dared to open his left eye, warily observing his surroundings... The tunnel had broken, and they were free! "I wish I believed in a god... That way I would have someone to thank."
