*In the Battlefield*
The battlefield was now swamped with the bodies of thousands, allies and enemies alike. The foul stench of death reached Liam’s nostrils as he finished off the last of the enemies surrounding him. It was a bulky Minotaur who had charged him with his bloody axe, though he was no match for the Prince’s mind tricks and magic. Panting, he scanned the area for any other signs of enemy life, but there was none nearby – the Dark SiDe seemed to be having the upper hand, now that the Elites and the rest of the forces were there.
“Nolana!” Liam called out to the elf, which had adopted the form of a proud lion. “The fight is still not over.”
“Should I give the word to the others?” she asked, once she changed back to her normal self.
The Prince nodded, and Nolana lit the flare – it was the signal they were all waiting for – the Elites that is. It immediately shot up into the air, with a burst of red light and a whooshing noise. Then she proceeded with lighting multiple other flares, each with a different colour.
“We’ll be there soon my Queen…” Liam whispered both to Samantha and to himself.

*Back to Cho and Tundra*
They had to head back. Too much had already happened, one could say, but it wasn’t over yet. The only thing telling Choethel that SD was still alive was the fact that he wasn’t dead yet - surprisingly enough. “Is everything alright?” Tundra eyed him with a worried look, squeezing his arm. “I’d love to say yes…” his voice tailed off as he failed his attempt to force a smile. “But… it isn’t…” she finished the sentence for him. “I can’t sense SD, at all. It’s worrying me. It’s never happened before and the thing is…” He hesitated for a second, the continued. “The thing is Tundra, I’m scared.” Tundra was terrified, hearing Cho utter those words. Because if he was scared, then what should she be feeling? After all, he was supposed to be the strong one, right? But she didn’t break, not even for a moment. Instead she managed to smile and attempted to sound determined and optimistic, because that’s what he needed at that very moment. “You’re alive and fine, aren’t you? Then so is SD. Let’s go find her, you’ll see for yourself.” “Thanks,” Cho’s voice sounded lighter than before. Tundra grinned, proving once again that even in the darkest hours, there was room for joy. It would be a long way back where they had come from. Even if they did make it out of the library alive, chances were that they would run out of time. But those problems didn’t apply to them, not anymore. Such things would only affect mortal, physical beings. “I don’t suppose you know what Free Sprit Form is, do you?” Just as Cho expected, Tundra shook her head. “Sprits up in the sky don’t have animal or human forms like you and me, they exist in the form of energy. That way they can almost be anywhere, anytime. Now, we’re not exactly capable of such a thing, but our Free Form is the closest to it we can get - it’s when we turn into a cloud of light. Free From allows us to move much faster through space, while concealing our presence, if we wish. Also, it’s when our senses are heightened the most.” Being used to taking in large amounts of information all at once, Tundra didn’t need Choethel to repeat anything. Instead, she came up with a question. “So why don’t you stay in that form? Sounds like it’s the best…” “Far from it. While it gives us speed, secrecy and awareness, it lacks in other aspects. For instance, we can’t communicate, or touch anyone. With it we can evade our enemies with ease, but technically, not attack back.” “Technically?” Tundra had caught that one word Cho was hoping to let go by unnoticed. He didn’t have time for explanations. Still… they were using the Free Sprit Form to go back, which would make up for any lost time. “Well, the secret’s in the name. Free Form. Tundra, our being is free, roaming around in rays of light. The only thing holding it together is our strong conscience. The energy needed to conjure magic, since physical attacks are out of question of course, is massive. Of course safely tucked in our bodies, little of that energy leaves us in the end, so we barely notice it. If our concentration is lost, even for the slightest moment, or if we simply aren’t strong enough to hold our ground, the bonds holding our soul together will snap and we will dissolve into nothing. That’s why Sprits don’t usually use the Free Form. Because it’s a dangerous thing.”

There was no telling how long SD and Sethus had been fighting for. It could have been minutes, it could have been hours – in the end it didn’t even matter. Now, however, the fight had taken an interesting turn. There was no clashing of swords, magic rays and the like, just the brute force of the mind. Brother and sister stood there, facing each other, both with their eyes closed while being able to see everything. They could see – or rather sense – the wind stirring around them, the clouds gathering, the animals deserting the place. They were all aware that one wrong move could obliterate them all. The wind was picking up from the force and the intensity of the battle of the minds, it was circling them, creating a sort of vortex, with leaves, twigs, even sand and rocks flying all around them.
Concentrate, concentrate, concentrate, repeated the Queen in her mind over and over again, ignoring the increasingly painful headache. Fight, destroy him, spill his blood on the dirt.
“You can’t hold me back for long SD. You can only bow before me. You cannot win, even when using that dragon of yours as a power source,” Sethus barked, half with malice, half with sheer insanity. “You still haven’t got it, have you? Choethel is not with me. It’s the one thing you could never see, the one thing you could never understand. And that is because you’ve always treated Sprits either as animals or an infinite power source. If Cho were here, you would have sensed him in my mind. The power I hold tonight is mine alone,” her voice was flat, with a matter-of-fact tone to it, due to her lack of emotions. “Impossible! The rituals I performed…” “… made it very hard for me to unlock that power of mine, indeed. In fact, even as we speak, after all these years, I have not managed to unleash it all yet. And for that I am not so grateful. But is not impossible. Hardly anything is.” “If what you say is true, then the power you hold is hardly enough to defeat me,” Sethus’ eyes sparked, it was as if he could already see himself victoriously standing over the Queen’s body. “Why don’t we find out?” Challenged SD and that was the end of their dialogue.

As the cloud of light Tundra and Cho were swirled upwards – and sometimes downwards – through the limbo of the library, the Sprits’ worry gave way to a calmer feeling of determination. They would be by Samantha’s side in a matter of minutes and the Queen seemed to be holding her ground just fine so far. At times Tundra’s mind – intoxicated by the force and freedom of the form she was not quite used to – would wander, but Choethel would always be there to tug her back into reality.
__________
They flew above the clouds and as they flew no one spoke. Liam because above all he was worried about Samantha, Jason because of the thoughts of the child he had managed to save flooding his mind, and Chris because… well this is Chris we are talking about. Nolana had followed the Elite as well, though her power was almost drained – she had spent it all on a massive time spell. In fact, the spell was still going, slowing down the entire world around them, buying them valuable minutes, even hours.
When they reached the Island, they descended into the forest and continued on foot, so that they would hopefully have the element of surprise. That was when they bumped into someone they hardly expected to see.
“Twilight?!”

Liam was the only one who recognised the person standing before them. He had seen Twilight before, through Darkness’ mind. It was Twilight who held the core of their being, but tonight something was different. Liam could somehow see the soul of both Light and Darkness through Twilight’s eyes. He made a move towards Twilight, who had yet to notice them, but was stopped by Nolana. “No. I’ll focus on slowing down this one person. Don’t approach, if you do, there is a great chance of us getting attacked. Twilight’s berserk or something!” The elf whispered in a rush and Liam seemed to agree, since he didn’t exactly object. Immediately, Twilight started moving in slow motion. “Why are we stopping?” Jason urged. “Twilight,” the Prince quickly explained. “The demon hunter?” HB was more than surprised to see Twilight on the Island – they all were. “No… This one’s different.” Slowly piecing together what he had heard from the Queen with what his eyes and senses told him, Liam was able to figure out the truth. “This… is the original Twilight. Somehow a massive energy was channelled to the soul and there is a great chance that Darkness – yes, the one we know – Light and Twilight Demon Hunter were once again united.” “Weren’t they always separate people?” It was Stefan who spoke this time. Liam’s mind was racing now. “Far from it. All three of them were part of one soul – Twilight’s. Then they got cleaved from each other, though I don’t know when or how. One of them kept the name Twilight; the others were called Light and Darkness. If they are united now, this means that they managed to seal the wall keeping the demons out. Maybe a few slipped out, but we needn’t worry about them at the moment.” “I’m sure Sethus isn’t going to be too happy about this. Having noted that, don’t you think it’s about time we go help SD?” Chris pointed out. Liam nodded. “We should leave a trail. That way Twilight can follow us and help us when we destroy Sethus. Twilight lusts for the blood of an enemy above all. Let’s go!”
At once, the Dark SiDers darted through the forest, towards their Queen.
___________
Even with their minds apart, it wasn’t too difficult for Cho to find Samantha. As soon as he and Tundra exited the Castle, they were greeted by a storm. When the two Sprits realised that it was no ordinary, natural phenomenon, they quickly changed their form into a more stable one. Now a dragon and a wolf, they ran straight for the eye of the storm, avoiding any dangerously sharp, flying objects. “Samantha!” Choethel called out. Nothing. “Sa-” he tried again, but Tundra rammed herself into him, cutting his shout. “Don’t! She’ll lose her concentration! That’s all Sethus wants! Don’t give it to him!” Cho cringed at his own carelessness. “We need to hit Sethus and break their mind connection. Stay here.” “No-” but the dragon was already gone and, with all the dirt in the air, it was impossible to track him.
Sethus and Queen SD were so concentrated in their battle that neither of them sensed the presence of the two Sprits nearby. The first one to notice them was the man, and that was because an energy ray was slammed on his chest, knocking the air out of his lungs for a moment. Almost at once, the storm ceased. The multiple items suspending in mid-air simply dropped to the ground, the dirt quickly settled on the ground, even the clouds began to clear. SD swayed a little, made dizzy part by the amount of energy she had spent during the mind duel, part by the confusion as she lost her concentration and her emotions returned.
“Cho!” That was the first word she managed to utter. A blinding flash of light, and Sethus was on his feet. “We made it! We made it and we’re here. Come on, let’s unite, Sethus is simply stunned – he’ll be up in a moment.” Tundra watched as Choethel and Samantha joined their beings, becoming one person. It was a pure, delicate process and, even though it took place in just a few seconds, she was quite positive that she would never get tired of seeing it. A new Queen SD was facing Sethus when the process was over, a much more powerful one. Yet would the combined power of a tired Sprit and an exhausted woman be enough?

When they reached the Queen, she was already united with Cho. Liam let out a sign of relief as he saw that she was okay. Grabbing his swords he dashed for Sethus, Nolana tailing behind him, but something stopped him. A sharp look from Queen SD combined with a message echoing in his mind. Stay out of this, she ordered in a cold tone. This is my fight, understand? It seemed that the other Dark SiDers had gotten the message as well, because none of them were raising their weapons against Sethus – they just looked at the Queen with question in their eyes. Samantha was exhausted, they could tell, and even with Cho there was no hope of her winning that battle. “Let us help you!” Liam called out and ran to her, but he was pushed away with force. “I don’t need your help!” She yelled in anger. “I want to kill him on my own!” Her voice was a growl, it was obvious that the woman thirsted for revenge.

HB and Bachameth had arrived not long after Liam and Nolana, and when he heard what SD had to say, HB's heart sank... Was he going to see his Queen die? But then, just as soon as he had thought that, an idea began to form on his mind.
"Hang on... You guys remember when I was fighting Anubis?"
HB gave a faint smile, and Bachameth looked at him, puzzled.
"Hey, this is no time for anecdotes..."
"No, this is important! Remember when I was fighting Anubis and I was losing the fight? That too was my fight... Do you remember what we did?"
"Ah..." Bachameth nodded as he remembered what had happened.
"You all gave me your energy, you sent me your strength, and it made my sword bigger, big enough to cut Anubis' hands off and make him surrender... Do you think the same would work here?"

Twilight was still roaming the forests, feeling the storm gathering, filled with rage, anger and hate.
But Twilight had soon seen something halting: a few people. Recognizable, but still unknown - Twilight stared in shock at them. They were there only for a brief moment, moving at lightning speed. But they left a trail behind them, for Twilight to hunt them. Odd creatures.
------
By the time Twilight reached the end of the path, galloping, the storm was already gone. Undone by the ones who created it, two figures who seemed to be... Struggling each other. Twilight couldn't help but loathe one of them, and love the other - though who they were remained a mystery.
Twilight began to charge the loathsome man, when the woman sent her look across the battlefield. Mesmerizing, halting Twilight.

Samantha… A voice echoed within her mind. What are you doing? I’m fighting. I don’t need their help. This is my fight! She argued, while dodging a blow from Sethus and moving in to attack. However strong her swings with her sword seemed to be, the man would brush them off as nothing. You don’t need to do this on your own! You’re not alone anymore.
At that moment, Queen SD felt a surge of energy; it filled her so suddenly that she lost concentration for a split second. Sethus laughed, noticing the woman’s slip, and gave her a deep cut in the shoulder. The Queen swore and used her newly found power to heal the wound, after doing so, however, she stubbornly rejected any further energy HB tried to send her.
Have you lost your mind? Cho struggled to make Samantha drop the mental wall she had encased herself in. For a moment it would vanish, and energy would flow through to them, but then the Queen would raise it again, twice as strong. It was strange, being in disagreement with someone within her very body, to have to argue within her own mind – for the first time Queen SD realised what it was like for Jason. Cho and SD would rarely argue; it was against their united nature to, especially when they shared the same body.
Liam watched as Sethus landed another blow on SD, cringing. Why was she doing this to him? He hated standing there, unable to do anything to help her, he felt so powerless and useless. The Queen’s clothes were half torn, her once white hair was now stained with the blood flowing from her wounds, her eyes had gone darker than ever, and she was panting heavily. Liam could feel his heart almost jump out if its place, each time Sethus got closer to attack. How much longer would his Queen have the power to withstand the man’s brutal blows? Several times he tried to reason with her, and still it seemed to him that the more he tried, the stronger Samantha made the wall separating them.
What are you so afraid of? The Sprit whispered to her, letting the words hover in her head for a moment. Look at Sethus. Behind the mask he wears, which serves to hide his true emotions, is fear, doubt, and question. He stands there on his own, grinning his cold, empty grin, and not one person has come to his aid. He is one of the most powerful warlocks to ever exist, no one has ever dared question him before, and yet the Dark SiDers choose to stand by you, his half-sister – and he has no idea why! These people are not willing to give their lives just because you can promise them rule and glory, they are here because they are your friends, because they love you. What am I so afraid of…? Queen SD repeater the question, absentmindedly. Anything, and something, nothing and everything altogether…
Lost within her own mind, SD had failed to notice Sethus, who had broken into a hysteric laughter – at least it seemed so, since his head was moving spasmodically with his mouth open, and his eyes half-closed. No sound reached Samantha’s ears, so it was hard to tell for sure. She raised her hand to her head and rubbed it, as she was feeling unusually light-headed. When she brought it down, she noticed fresh blood running down her palm, forming tiny rivers that spread all over her hand. Did he hit me? Her eyelids began to drop, she felt as if she couldn’t keep her eyes open for much longer. I guess I didn’t notice… It doesn’t matter, I feel no pain… I just need to sleep, to rest… At that moment she noticed a face, filled with fear and agony. Its eyes gone wide, its mouth hanging open, she could even see drops of sweat on its brow. It was running towards her, trying to reach her, but Sethus wouldn’t let it, he would just push it away like a pestering insect. Then she noticed that it wasn’t just one face she had seen, but several faces, all screaming out something that Samantha couldn’t hear. She blinked a couple of times, trying to snap back to reality.
They seem awfully worried about something, SD thought as she watched the events unfold before her like an old, silent movie. Samantha, come back! The familiar voice rang in her mind like a bell, awakening her from a long slumber. What’s happening? She asked, still a bit dazed. We’re hurt, but Sethus is having a bit of fun before moving in for the kill – the sick bastard. Still this could work to our advantage. Accept the help of the Dark SiDers, now. But… Remember the first time we met? You were nothing but a little girl, about to be devoured by a dragon… And you saved me… Exactly. There are some things we are not meant to do on our own. No creature was ever meant to be alone… Choethel spoke in his soothing voice.
It was quiet in Queen SD’s mind for what seemed like ages. Not because she had nothing to say, but because she was mustering all her remaining strength into one final act, one simple sentence spoken out loud. “Dark SiDers… I need you…” And as she said that, her eyes returned to their glistering, sapphire shade, and the mental wall she had encased herself in fell.

Liam could swear that those words Queen SD had spoken were the most heavenly he’d ever heard. As Samantha allowed them to help her, he felt a huge weight being lifted from his chest. “Jason!” He called out to the Priest, who then nodded in understanding, but made no move. “Come on,” Liam urged. “Not yet…” whispered the man. “We have one shot at this. We need everyone to be fully synchronised.” Hearing those words Liam gritted his teeth, but reluctantly agreed. The others needed to be informed, without Sethus knowing of their plan, so Liam discreetly channelled the energy of the Dark SiDers and, reaching for their mind waves, he was able to achieve a telepathic connection between them all. It took all his concentration to keep the connection going, while preventing Sethus from sensing it, so Jason was left to do the talking. The plan was simple, the Priest explained, they were all to transfer their energy to the Queen. I don’t know how… Tundra said, sounding mad at herself for something she couldn’t control. I can extract it from you, if you’ll allow me, Nolana offered. You can do that? Exclaimed the woman, her face lightening up as the elf nodded. The Dark SiDers were gathering, but Sethus only had eyes for the Queen, who lay on the damp ground helpless. He could almost see it now, her dying by his hand, life slipping from her body; he could almost taste her blood on his lips. How should he do it? Cleave her head off? No, that would be too painless… How about strangling her? Painful and humiliating, but there would be no blood… He could torture her to death… As Sethus pondered about the different ways he could kill SD, Nolana gathered her remaining energy and when she had but a few drops left, she drew some from Tundra. The amount of energy that woman held was astonishing, almost unnatural. Tundra was like a huge power-source and she had no idea! With a nod to Jason, she began to send that energy to the Queen in waves, and soon the other Dark SiDers joined her, one by one.
The first wave of energy reached the Queen and she absorbed it, it completely renewed her, though she didn’t let it show. Cho stored the energy in their body, waiting for more. It had a lively, yet mysterious feel to it, so SD guessed it came from Nolana and Tundra. The second and third were easy to recognise: Jason’s and Liam’s, both warm and caring, though the first not as intoxicating as the latest. Then followed a larger one, still warm in its own way but a bit rough around the edges, which came from Chris. As the remaining energy waves washed over her, some more familiar than others, she grew stronger and stronger, to the point where she could barely hold all the power within her. Sethus, who had yet to notice the difference in the Queen’s power, slowly walked towards her and stood before her. “Game over,” he spat and kicked her in the groin. Samantha pretended to cough up blood and mumbled a faint reply, trying not to let a smile form on her lips, which could give her away. “Cut the corny lines, please!” Enraged by that comment, Sethus swore and kicked her again, this time harder. Before she was able to turn away, he pulled her off the ground and held her by the scruff of the neck, fixing his gaze on her eyes while she choked. She tried to return the glare, but her eyes were unable to focus, due to the energy overflowing in her body. “No one is smart with me!” Sethus roared, both in anger and in a twisted amusement. “Why, are you not up for it?” The male voice, which came up from behind his back, belonged to Jason. All of Sethus’ concentration had been on the pleasure he was extracting from seeing his enemy in such a weak, helpless state, but he was snapped out of it when he heard Jason’s words. It was the moment they had been waiting for, Sethus was taken aback, becoming more vulnerable to blows. By the time Sethus realised the position he was in, it was too late to reverse the situation. His first reaction was to drop the Queen, who then held his wrists, preventing him from running away. “Now!” Liam yelled and they all extended their arms towards their common enemy.
The energy of the Dark SiDers, which was encased in Queen SD’s body, was unleashed, with a blinding flash of light. It took everyone’s effort to direct its massive power into one attack, a plasma ray which struck Sethus right on the chest, going in through one side and coming out through his back. He froze. His eyes had gone wide, not from the pain but from astonishment – he could not believe the fact that he had been defeated, he would not believe it. His mouth moved as if he was saying something, but no words were forming. Then he shut his eyes, as they felt as if they were on fire. In fact, his whole body seemed to be burning from the inside, he wanted to scream but his mouth had gone completely numb. So had his legs, and he fell to the ground. As the burning feeling grew, Sethus managed to steal one last peek at the world around him. The trees, whose branches were reaching menacingly for him, the insects which were crawling there beside him, the Dark SiDers gathered around him, watching as he suffered with hard looks on their faces, though not one of them was smiling. Looking up all he could see were clouds and he realised that he would not get to see the sky for one last time before his demise – the worst part was that he didn’t care.
Queen SD and Cho watched as the body of their enemy dissolved into darkness. It didn’t join the cosmos; it wasn’t even sent to the Underworld, Sethus’ corrupt soul simply faded away. “Such is the fate of whoever stands in our way,” Samantha finally said, tearing her gaze from the spot where Sethus previously lay. There was more bitterness in her voice than satisfaction. “Thank you,” she then added, her tone softening as her eyes fell on the Dark SiDers; no more words needed to be exchanged.

3 Months Later “The dawn is nigh, soon the light will consume the darkness…” whispered Queen SD, her gaze fixed on the pale blue sky. “But there will always be a dark patch left in the sky, shining in its own way,” replied Cho who was standing beside her. It had become a sort of greeting between them, a private way of saying, “everything will be alright”, but not without a hint of sarcasm in their tone. The truth is, no one could ever know if everything would be alright, they could only hope that it would. Still, three months had passed since Sethus’ defeat and things were looking up. The Dark SiDers had focused on reorganising their force and they had already begun recruiting new members, as they had lost many in battle. The Castle was being repaired too, all the minor damages it had suffered in the past year were almost gone and its ancient halls shone as good as new – almost. “Hey, Samantha!” A female voice called out, making the Queen turn her eyes away from the now orange sky. “Everything okay Tundra?” She smiled at the woman. Tundra had been with them for less time than most Dark SiDers but she already felt like family – maybe it was her connection with Cho that made it so. “Yes, everything’s fine!” She grinned warmly, and then her eyes fell on the Sprit. “Mind if I steal Cho for a bit? We’re going to test-fly my new glider,” she said with excitement and Queen SD nodded, even though she knew that they didn’t need her permission. “Come on then! What’s taking you so long?” Cho suddenly appeared in front of her, already in his dragon form. “See you around Samantha,” he added as they rushed off and she waved at them. Now alone, SD walked the gardens of the Castle with no specific reason. Today she would take it easy, things were going well, the Dark SiDe was growing in power and she felt more confident than ever that nothing could come in their way. She also felt an unusual peace within her mind – any troubling thoughts or disturbing images had been cleared, for now there was no need to worry about anything. Strange, she thought, smiling to herself, I usually crave for some action, for something to happen. I guess too much happened in too little time, and so I welcome this rest. For how long will it be this way, anyway? “Samantha,” she heard a deep voice call her. “That’s my name,” SD turned around and came face to face with Liam, just as she expected. She was going to make a sarcastic comment of some sort, but the look on the man’s face stopped her. “What’s wrong?” Her voice dropped, so that they would attract no attention. “I need to talk to you about something…” It seemed as if he was struggling to get the words out of his throat. “Sure, anything…” They sat down on a bench and Liam made sure they were alone before speaking again. “First of all… I want you to know that the Dark SiDe is my family now and nothing shall ever change that. Nothing shall take me away from you, unless you want me gone, which I will understand,” all the while he was talking he avoided the Queen’s gaze. “What are you talking about? Why would I want you gone?” Samantha was trying to look into his eyes but he wouldn’t let her. Why was he acting that way? Liam had always been a mystery, but she had never seen him behave like that. Both curious and worried, she urged him to continue. “I’m just saying that I’ll understand if you won’t have me staying here after I’m done.” “Liam, what is it? What-” She was getting agitated but he cut her off. “My past… I have remembered. My memory… It slowly started coming back to me. At first it was just pictures, voices, maybe dream-like scenes, but after the battle with Sethus… I think the barrier that was holding my past from me was broken.” “Liam, that’s great news, so why am I not seeing you thriving about it right now? Why is your tone so bitter?” “I am not human,” he said, wanting to see how the Queen would react to that. Much to his relief, she didn’t seem surprised. “Makes sense. Your energy, though I cannot identify it, is not one of a mortal man. You are immortal, no different from Cho and I, though I cannot explain why. But all this we knew before you came to talk to me Liam, so what is different now?” “I’m an Angel,” he blurted out, no longer able to keep it inside him. He had to tell someone, he needed Samantha to know. A long pause followed – the Queen was left speechless, after all what could she say? And so Liam begun to explain, hoping that he could make her understand. “My body was ten years old when I was created. Nothing like me had ever been made before, imagine, an Angel with a conscience, with a mind of its own! I was to stop aging before even entering my thirties and until then the Light Side would train and educate me, try to imprint their ideas in my mind. I was a quick learner and my abilities in magic were greater than any human’s, while I was more intelligent and strong-willed than the ordinary Angels, so I was the Light Side’s most promising agent. I lived among them for four years, until my body was fourteen years old and my mind much older. I had wanted to leave earlier, but I could never bring myself to do so. There were plenty of reasons – the lies, the truths, the fact that no one ever gave me a real reason for my missions, and most of all the way they all treated me. The saw me not as a creature with a soul and a conscience, but as a pawn, their key to power. It sickened me.” “One night there was an attack – someone had managed to slip in the Light Side Peninsula and was causing notable damage. A vampire, they told us, and a pretty strong one too. I was called to face him and I went, without much fear or even interest. Then I looked into his eyes and I knew that I couldn’t fight him. Not because I was afraid, but because I simply didn’t feel that harming him would be the right thing to do. No, whatever that creature was – for I doubted it was truly a vampire – it was not an enemy, at least not to me. Then I heard a voice in my head, telling me to run, to leave this dreaded place and I obeyed. I ran and I concealed myself with the greatest skill I had ever, so that even the top Light Side agents had trouble tracking me.” “On the fourth day after I had escaped they found me. I was roaming the lands, near a cliff not too far away from the Peninsula, as I had nowhere else to go. I had no wings like most Angels did so I could not fly and I had no mount to carry me when my legs gave out. I was lost, hungry, and completely and utterly alone. In this weak state they found me and chassed me, but I ran like I had never run before. Then I felt a spell hit me and it sent me tumbling down the cliff and into the river that lay below. There they left me, convinced that I would not be able to survive, and I probably wouldn’t have, if it weren’t for you. You found me in that river, it had carried me far and all the while I was unconscious. If I were human, or even an elf, I would have surely drowned, if the fall had not killed me. It must have been a memory spell that hit me, a very powerful memory spell that kept my past hidden from me for years.” “Now you know my story, do as you please with me. I have told you all I can remember and I am positively sure there is no more to it. So what do you say, my Queen?” Samantha studied him for a while. The way his eyes longed for an answer, for a sign that she understood him, the fear in them, and yet the relief. She knew he wanted to shout at her to talk to him, to say something, anything to break the creeping silence between them, but he did not, knowing that she needed her time. “Well… Have you never heard of Fallen Angels or Dark Angels?” Finally she smiled, saying the one thing that made sense for her to say. “Did you ever think I would send you away because of that? You are an Angel just like Cho is a Sprit and Nolana is an elf, it matters not what you are born to be but what you become, and you have become a Dark SiDer. We all have.” They sat together on the bench, once again in silence but this time it was soothing, so peaceful that SD felt almost sorry to break it. “What was it like? Living with the Light Side,” she asked, curiosity getting the best of her. “You would have hated it. There were no pineapples,” Liam laughed and so did Samantha. Then they changed the subject to the growing power of the Dark SiDe and the promises that the future held.

OOC: ;D I used that WriteorDie thing you sent in Skype SD. It helps o.o I just felt like I'd finally do it today. Enjoy my act of grace. This was a big day for Chris. It was around three months after he helped the other Dark SiDers to defeat Sethus and his army, and in the meantime there wasn't much for them to do. He tried to keep himself occupied by doing rounds around the Castle, checking up on everything. He'd go to places such as the Tower, the Beach, and even the Kitchen, for apparently no reason at all. He also tried to make a game to play by his lonesome and find the other Dark SiDers around the Castle in as little time as possible. More than once has he been asked why he was running back and forth through the halls, opening every door he came across. More than once has he been scolded by Tundra for repeatedly trying to open the bathroom door. He was quite surprised to find out that women don't like hearing someone try to break in to the bathroom while they're are using it. He was also quite surprised to see HB dressing up in women's clothing, but not as surprised as when he realized he actually looked good in them. Today he'd be doing his rounds again, but for the last time for a while. He also didn't have time to do his boredom slaying exercises. He had places to go, and, though he never mentioned his hopes of, people to see. He went around, making sure everything was in order, just as it had been for the past three months. Nothing seemed too be out of place, and he highly doubted any attacks to happen any time soon. He remembered he still had his trunk magically stored, and could summon it to him at will. There was one more thing to do. He found the Queen exactly where he expected her to be, at the beach. Usually, Liam was with her, but he must have gone off somewhere for the moment, fortunately enough for Chris. "Hey SD." he said. "Oh, hi Chris. I almost thought of asking if you were wanted to enjoy the sight of the ocean with me." she said with a laugh. "Heh. Umm, are you alone?" Chris asked. "Yes... why do you ask?" "I just wanted to tell you that I'm leaving." "Leaving?! Where?! Why?! Is something the matter?!" she said, her voice full of concern. "Calm down, SD. I'm not leaving forever." SD sighed with relief. "Don't scare me like that, okay Chris?" "Sorry, SD. I'm leaving for the Underworld." "Why the Underworld? What could possibly be of interest to you there?" "I have a score to settle with a certain Archdemon I once served under there. I don't think the Dark SiDe is going to need me while I'm away, it shouldn't be exceptionally long." "Not Exceptionally long is a very vague estimate" she said suspiciously. "Well that's because I'm not sure how long exactly. I can't just hop into Baal's palace with a wave of my hand." "Fair enough. But why Chris? Have you really held that grudge this long?" "I know it seems strange, but I want to do this. To prove myself that I've outgrown that era of my life." "Really? Are you sure there are no human reasons you're going there? Nothing to find?" "Reading other peoples minds is rude, SD." "I didn't read your mind though." "Oh...." "Just be careful, okay? We need you, Chris." "Aren't I always?" he replied with a grin then turned and left before SD could make a smart comeback. HB Edit: Corrected a code mistake

Liam and Cho were walking on the beach, just a bit before nightfall, when they came by Twilight, who sat on the golden sand, staring into the sea with glazed eyes.
Liam went to tap Twilight's shoulder when Cho halted him.
"Don't do it Liam, it won't help".
"Are you sure, Cho? I thought it was supposed to be getting better after so much time."
"It is, Liam." Answered the Sprit, "It is just that we didn't assess correctly how long Light and Darkness were away - And how brutaly all three were conjoined. There's is nothing we can do except interrupt it."
"I trust you have tried what you can... But can't you even get in there and help settle things? You with alll your power..."
"...Can do nothing. This process doesn't take place inside a mind, Liam. It takes place inside the very soul of the person. Even if I could get in there, I'd be powerless - And could do nothing but watch and get hurt. Leave it be Liam, there are other things that require our attention."
"But what did happen there? What did cause the cleaved soul be whole again?" Asked Liam with a puzzled look.
Cho sighed.
"Alright. Twilight's soul was hit by the energy wave coming out of the wall back then. This hit caused the soul to be in grave danger - Which the only way it had seen to avert was recalling all the power it had - Regardless of the conflicts with the other two parts, Light and Darkness. When that happened, though, Twilight did not get back to a state of equilibrium: The two other parts were beginnig to become distinct people - Light and Darkness - And therfore did not yield easily. Twilight could barely hold it until the end of the battle, when the massive energy transfuse was made, and then collapsed. Now, there is a fight going on - Our friend is taming Light and Darkness again, reunioning with them. Up until that is done, Twilight would exist as three different people who use a single mind - And therfore acts at the only way they all know, back to childhood, before the Dark SiDe - Back to the sea and forests and storms."
As Cho said that, Twilight suddenly shivered and started running toward the forest. Liam started to follow, but was stopped by Cho.
"Don't worry for that, there is nothing in there of danger - Not to Twilight, at least. Hope I didn't chew your ear off, cause the Queen still wishes to talk to us before nightfall."
"Yeah, let's go..." Liam answered, staring back at the forest.
Night was taking over, granting the golden sand a new, silvery colour. It has always been so: After a beatiful twilight comes a beautiful night - And after it, a new sun dawns, filling the world with its grace, alighting the seas, the forests, the people...
That's how it goes with times, anyway.
OOC: Hope you like it. I think it came out a bit off - Well anyway, we'll see about it. SD, let me know if you rather change it or not
