Chris whispered to himself, "To Hebrew...." and downed his glass.

Everybody was desperately trying to seem joyful and celebrate the dawn of the new age. Still, the next few weeks were filled with nothing but sorrow. The would joke now and then, to get their spirits up, but then everything would return to its depressing state. HebrewB's body had been encased in a magical block of ice, in order to be preserved, while Dante was organizing the funeral.
It was around midnight when Cho slipped out of bed. He couldn’t fall asleep and he didn't need it anyway, so he slowly pulled the covers off him and climbed out, carful not to awaken Tundra. For a few seconds he watched her sleep, then he gave her a subtle kiss on the forehead and left. He didn't care where he was going, he just needed out, and since the full moon was shinning brightly in the sky, he decided a walk in the beach wouldn't be that bad. Not a sound was heard from within the castle walls, everyone – even the darklings – were fast asleep. Cho took on his dragon form, which he had neglected in the past few days, and shot off into the starry sky. The wind caressed his very essence, it felt great to be flying once more so he just closed his eyes and took in the feeling. A while later he decided to return to the island and he took on his human form, after landing on the soft sand of the beach. There he lay and gazed at the stars.
Queen SD had kept her eyes shut for a while, hoping that she would just get to sleep but it was impossible.
"Do you think things will ever be the same..?" she whispered, taking in a big nostalgic breath.
"... I don't know..." came the reply after a while. Liam had not been able to fall asleep either. "but right now, we have to make the best of what we have." He added and put his arm around Samantha.

Tundra woke in the middle of the night. She felt cold. "Cho?" She looked across. The sheets were pulled back and he was nowhere to be seen. "Not again..." She sighed. He had thought she didn't realise, when he crept back in the morning while she was asleep. He didn't notice that she was always awake when he came back. Since HB's death, she'd been scared to sleep when he wasn't there. He seemed to protect her from the nightmares.
She got up, and put on her dressing gown. Grey no longer slept at the end of the bed, Cho would accidently kick him in the middle of the night, instead, in extreme old age (Tundra had always known he was a bit different) He would sleep in the kitchen under the radiator, floor sprawled in blankets to keep him warm. That was where she went now, to give Grey a stroke and get some cold pineapple juice. She just hoped she wouldn't meet anybody on the way.

Cho had only slept for a few hours when he got up. Then again, sleep was not something necessary to him. He yawned, but then noticed that Tundra was gone. The man sighed and, not having anything else to do, he got dressed and headed to the kitchen. Pineapple juice was the first thing he needed in the morning and a few cookies to go with it would not be bad at all. He made his way through the halls, but as turned around a corner, he bumped into Tundra.
"Sorry..." he muttered and made a move to leave, not looking her in the eyes.
"For how long are we going to go on without talking?" the woman spoke as she grabbed his arm to stop him from leaving.
"It's just... a crazy time..." he whispered and pulled free of her grasp. Tundra didn't try to stop him this time when he tried to walk away.
Cho felt tears crowd in his eyes. I couldn't save him... I let him die... thoughts rushed through his mind, What if I'm not able to save her either one day? I don't deserve her... I don't deserve anyone... In the past few weeks he and Tundra had begun to exchange less and less words, until there were days where they didn't even get to say "hi" to each other. A feeling of nostalgia had taken over Cho and he felt detached from the rest of the world. Even Samantha now felt somewhat distant from him...

Tundra could feel the tears welling up in her throat. She couldn't bear it when Cho was like this... She knew that he felt guilty, but she didn't know the full reason why. Didn't he think that she felt bad too? That her necklace had suddenly stopped working? She felt like she was just as much to blame as he was.. She needed to let him know that she still loved him.
She ran upstairs, after leaving him sufficient time to cool off. He wasn't in the bedroom.. "Damn it... where is he?" She looked out of the window. There he was back on the beach, knee high in the surf... "Cho!!" She shouted, but he didn't turn his head..Tundra wondered if he'd heard her or he was deliberately ignoring her.
She ran down to the beach, dizzy with lack of oxygen... "Cho!!" She sprinted over to him..."Cho...please...I..I l-love you..." She stared into his eyes and embraced him...he didn't pull away, but the warmth of his heart seemed to have seeped away with the retreating tide..

Lindsay, the only daughter HB had ever had, and one of his only two children, was depressed. She hadn't left her room at all, and she had been busy making her life more miserable. She had been cutting herself, and had done nothing but cry and bleed. The pain on her arm seemed to dull the pain in her heart, but it still didn't get rid of it. She had been longing for a release from her grief, and she knew the only way to do that would be to sit by her father's side once more.
She grabbed a pen and some paper, and started writing a note.
To whoever may find me, do not be sad... I have done what I must, and have rejoined my father. He was the only thing in this world I truly cared for, and the love he showed me is incomparable to anything else... I cannot live without him. That is why I did it.
Lindsay.
Sobbing to herself, she climbed onto a chair and wrapped one end of her belt around the chandelier in her room, and wrapped the other around her fragile neck...
She jumped.

"Cho...please...I..I l-love you..." Tundra had ran towards him and embraced him. The man didn't pull away, he didn’t have the power to. He looked her in the eyes and spoke.
"...me too...Tundra... you cannot imagine... but... you shouldn't be with me... I don't deserve you... I won't be able to save you... like I wasn't able to save him. I... I'm a failure... I should have done better, tried harder... but I didn't... I couldn’t..."
The words came as a whisper out of Cho's mouth, as tears started to crowd in his eyes once again.

Queen SD opened her eyes and stretched, then turned around to face Liam. Only, he wasn't there. She shot up from bed worried, but was calmed down by a familiar voice. "Goodmorning..." the king simply said and resumed watching the endless sea from out the balcony. Samantha got up and joined him. They didn't say a word for a while; they just stood there staring at the horizon. The sky was clear, not a cloud to be seen, the sun was burning, but fortunately a sweet little breeze was there to balance things out. It was a beautiful summer day.
Eventually, Liam turned to the Queen and held her hand.
"Remember what you asked be last night?" he whispered. "Ask me again..."
There was a short pause before SD decided to speak.
"... do you think things will ever be the same..?"
"...No" came the answer. But after a bit, the king added, "I think they will be better." And he kissed her on the forehead, smiling.

Tundra shook her head in disgust, tears dripping down her face, bitter wind stinging her cheeks. "Don't you dare say that Cho." She hit him softly in the chest. It was only gentle, but he still looked taken aback. "You did so much for him, for all of us. But don't you think we all tried our hardest to make sure that Jason would recover?" Cho flinched as Tundra said his name out loud. "Don't you think that we all would have done anything to stop it? How do you think I feel, my necklace suddenly...suddenly..." She broke down into tears, but managed to mutter; "We all feel empty, like we're looking for something just beyond our vision, but the truth is, we're not going to find it...not like this, not wallowing pathetically in grief and shame and hate." She wiped away her tears, and fixed her resolve. "We're got to try this. If you can't see that then... then." Cho kissed her... "...then I don't know how we're going to get through this.." Tundra finished

Dante walked up to Lindsay's room, and knocked.
"Lindsay? Time to get up... We have a busy day."
He got no answer.
She's not answering...
"Yes, I know that... She's probably still asleep..."
Why not do that thing you used to do as a kid? When you'd jump on her bed to wake her up?
A sly grin spread on Dante's face, and he mentally thanked the demon for reminding him. It didn't seem appropriate to be doing something like this so soon after his father's death, yet, as he realised, he felt a need to be alive, and he had never felt as alive as he did when he was a child. Why not jump on her bed?
Dante opened the door, and got the shock of his life.
There, suspended by a belt around her neck, was his sister.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"...No" came the answer. But after a bit, the king added, "I think they will be better." And he kissed her on the forehead, smiling. He could feel it, things were going to get a lot better... or so he hoped.
Both of them sat, watching the magnificent view from the balcony. It felt as though nothing could spoil the peace, until a horrific shouting sound echoed up to the two. Both of them, simultaneously, leaped to their feet.
"Can't we have one moment, without being detracted?" Samantha sighed.
"Well thats The Dark SiDe for you..." Lam replied smiling. "I think we better check it out..." He continued grabbing Samantha hand and running out the door. As they sprinted down the many winding corridors, they just hoped everything was fine, but deep within them they knew that everything most certainly was not fine...
Slowing down, they saw Dante standing in the threshold of Lindsay's room. Although they were next to him, he just ignored them as if both of them were mere shadows. After a few seconds, Dante ran bursting into the room.
Samantha and Liam slowly approached the door, preparing themselfs for the horror they would see. As they saw Lindsay motionless body hanging from the ceiling, Liam felt a mix of emotions fall upon him. It was a mix of confusion and anger, but mainly, it was sadness...

Chris sat on the edge of the Dark SiDe Castle overlooking the sea as it sparkled and reflected the orange glow of the morning sun. What was he going to do now? He had nothing to do, now that they're biggest enemy was defeated. He was once again, without purpose.
No, he thought
He wasn't going to slip back into that train of thought. He got up and spread his wings ready to fly off when he felt Reaper's bony hand grab his shoulder. He looked back
"You have to see this. Now."
Chris knew, Reaper wasn't always serious, only when absolutely necessary. This must have been important. He spread his wings out and became intangible. His wings slowed his descent as he went through floor after floor. He noticed Nailah was running down the hall and landed on that floor.
"Nailah," she turned, "What's happening?" "Someone screamed, it sounded like it came from Lindsay's room, just under this floor, come on, let's go!"
The two went down and saw a few other Dark SiDer's standing in the room. The two went up and nearly fell down when they saw Lindays corpse, just hanging there.
Chris wasn't prepared for this. He had seen death, many times, but suicide... He wasn't familiar with it... This chilled him, and to top it off, Lindsay was like family to him, just as all the Dark SiDer's were.

Cho looked as if he were about to say something, then sighed and became silent. Tundra looked at him in digust and shook her head. Then, a sudden scream rang out. "Oh my God." Tundra muttered and began running back to the castle, Cho followed.
A crowd of people were huddled around Lindsay's room. "What is it, what's happened?" Cho enquired, peering around. "Oh my..." He stood back, letting Tundra take a look. "Oh my..." Tundra's voice echoed Cho's. Seeing her friend's lifeless body drifting in the air, suspended in sleep; forever..made Tundra's stomach churn. She ran out of the room, sprinting to the bathrooms... And for the sixth time that week; she was very violently sick.

Dante kneeled at the feet of his dead sister, crying, refusing to leave her... He was vaguely aware of people around him, but not of who they were. His mind was numb, he couldn't feel anything but the wrenching sorrow in his heart. He slowly stood up, and reached up to the belt. His fingers fumbled on the belt, and he just couldn't loosen it. He stumbled across the room, and picked up a knife. He staggered back to his sister, put one arm around her, and with the other, cut the belt in half. She flopped lifelessly in his arms, yet he brushed her hair out of her face, and kissed her forehead.
"Sis... Sis you can't be... Why did you do this? Why?"
