Stefan had heard the scream and then seen Tundra running towards lindsays room, whats happened he thought walking out of his room "Steve come here" he called back to his son "what was that scream dad?" he enquired "i don't know but we should find out," and so they set off at a brisk pace, towards lindsays room. They arrived and had to push through several people before they saw it, HB's daughter lindsay hung by a belt at her neck, oh no he thought as a great pain shook his heart, but what he said was much different, for there pushing his way in was Steve "NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, no it can't be"he son yelled "STEVE! wait" he said pulling him back and holding him by the waist, for Steve had become brilliant freinds with HB's children after Stefan had become good freinds with HB himself. and so he couldn't bear to see his freind hanging there. "steve..steve" he said gently "go to the hall and wait for me there you don't want to see any more of this." steve walked off obediantly, sobbing all the way. as soon as steve had dissapeared round the corner Stefan turned back to the croud "move away," he said "give the boy some room, i'm sure he doesn't want us staring, come on" he saw everybody away, and left Dante, the last of the family to peace.

Tundra groaned and pulled her hair away from her face.... "Oh my God Lin...why did..." Her eyes welled up just thinking of it. She solemnly got up, got a head rush and washed her hands. "What's going on with everybody, it's like a big black cloud...it just won't go away..." She went down to the kitchens, not knowing what to do, or where to go...she'd avoid Cho for the time being, she just couldn't face him at the moment.

And so the Golden age had begun. With loss and misery. But the Queen knew she had to be strong. Strong for her Dark SiDers, strong for Cho and Liam, strong for herself. HebrewB and Lindsay were gone, within the blink of an eye, it was hard to believe. Still, she knew she had to accept it and move on, as hard as it was. She had witnessed death multiple times and it didn't get any easier, the stinging feeling in her heart was persistent.
And suddenly a feeling took over Queen SD, a need greater than all others. The need to throw herself in someone's arms and feel his warmth and love. And suddenly, she couldn't be strong. The past events were just too much for her to take, nothing made sense anymore. Had someone cast a curse on the Dark SiDe? Those should be happy times, full of glory and celebrations, though they were anything but that. Why so much pain? Samantha turned around and started running down the corridor, not knowing what to do, while tears crowded in her eyes. Then for the first time in days, luck smiled at her and brought a man in her way, the one person she needed to see and hold at the time being.
"Cho!" she shouted out, before burying herself in his chest and breaking out in a loud sob. The man only seemed surprised for a split second, before squeezing the Queen in a warm hug and whispering to her. "Hey... there there... don't you cry... I hate seeing you like this... I got you now, shhhs..." She looked up at him, her sapphire eyes full of tears, but managed to form a faint smile. And suddenly she was ten years old again, faced with a huge black monster all alone, when a silver flash of light came to her protection. Oh how long it had been since she had last been alone with him, all vulnerable and helpless.
"Hey, come here", he brushed her hair away from her face and took on his dragon form; the one SD was used to. He pulled her on his back and took of, flying out from the wide open window at the end of the hall. The wind hit the Queen's face and refreshed her, every time she took in a deep breath she felt more and more alive. The tears were all brushed away and she was smiling truly this time. Cho finally settled under a tree and the far end of the beach, half surrounded by wild bushes. He didn't need to say a word; Samantha simply lay down on grass, which was mixed with warm sand, and closed her eyes. The dragon curled up around her, as if to protect her from the rest of the world. My soul, my being, my protector... the Queen thought, letting her consciousness slip slowly.

Chris flew up to the high ledge of the Castle that he went to often. He overlooked the sparkling sea and bright warm sun.
Why is weather always best, on the worst days, Chris thought as he gazed blankly down at the world before him. Some golden age this has become... All the hard work, all the pain, all the sacrifice... and this is how we are rewarded. We lose two Dark SiDers on the eve of our time of triumph. How long before the entire Dark SiDe falls?
He heard the fluttering of wings and saw a few black feathers fall around him. He knew it would be either SD or Nailah, and seeing as he had seen SD on another part of the beach, he knew it was Nailah. But he looked anyway. He noticed she was still quite upset about it, and still had puffy, red, watery eyes. He had the sudden overpowering urge to make her feel better.
"You going to be alright?" he asked "Yes, I just need some time," she replied, sniffling in between words. "You shouldn't dwell on it so much," he said, attempting to help "What are you saying! Lindsay killed herself!" she said, moving slightly away from him. "How could you even say such a thing! She was like family!"
Chris was going to say, "People die," but something in him, something that could be called ancient knew, this was not what he wanted to say.
"I am sad too even if it looks like I don't look it, i've just become desensitized to this sort of thing," "I know you are," she said, easing up again, and moving closer to him," I could tell. So... do you want someone to bear through this with as well?"
A part of Chris knew what he needed to do next, what he wanted to do next. He carefully brought Nailah into his arms and embraced her. He finally realized what that strange feeling he had felt the moment she flew up there. He thought for a moment
I thought i gave this up... No, I guess it's finally time No matter how grim the start, It's a Golden Age nonetheless...

HB and Lindsay had their funeral three days after they died. Dante arrived in a horse drawn carriage, black carriage and black horses, driven by a demon. His suit seemed untarnished by wrinkles, and was of the deepest black that had ever been seen. His grief was unmatched that day, and he cried through the funeral procession, not saying a word. The priest who conducted the ceremony was none other than Sakoda Silverman, an old friend of HB's, who had nothing but good things to say about him. "And so, on this day, we mark the passing of a warrior matched by no other, and the daughter he loved with all of his heart... Let us give our worship to the pineapple, that he lived a good life, and overcame all of his difficulties, and that he had two children who loved him as much as he them, and they all made each other proud. It was during his time with the Dark SiDe, that Jason gained a daughter, and a son, and he was never sad again. Could everyone please stand as we commit their bodies and spirits to the flames, to free their souls into the afterlife, to what Jason described as Valhalla, where warriors may fight for eternity, and their wounds be healed overnight. Goodbye my friend, my saviour, my brother in arms... Goodbye, and good luck." The chords of Free Bird by Lynrd Skynrd struck up, and HB's coffin moved slowly into the chamber for cremation. Dante wept bitterly, for the loss of his father, who he had loved unconditionally, who had shown him how to fight, who had put his life on the line to save the Dark SiDe so many times, and who had given his life to save them all... He had lost his mentor in life, and nothing seemed to match the almost numb ache in his heart. The song came to an end. Sakoda spoke again. "Now that the father has been commited to the flames, we must also send his daughter to join him. Lindsay was a strong woman, who Jason had rescued at birth in a show of undying love for his first fiancee. She was the result of gallantry, and as such was gallant in her life, beautiful and graceful. Everything she did seemed to work, and although she lacked skill in fighting, her speciality was in magic and entertainment. She kept us all smiling with her refusal to give up, and with her total confidence in her peers. She learned magic well, and protected the castle and its inhabitants with all her might. Lindsay, we say goodbye, and enjoy the afterlife. Keep 'em smiling. Farewell." Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin started up. Lindsay had chosen it specifically for her funeral if she ever died, because she knew the circumstances of her birth. She knew there really was a stairway to heaven, and she was appreciative of the fact she had travelled down it, but never up. She had a strong sense of humour, and thought of the irony of there being a stairway to heaven in her birth and her death. Dante appreciated her wit, but only cried. He could not laugh. Her coffin moved into the flames too, and by the end of the song, buth his father and sister were gone, just ashes. He was a good man... He loved both of you. I never understood it personally, but he did.Dante nodded silently, and when everyone was ushered out of the building, Dante moved slowly, reluctantly, as though believing that he could bring them back by just staying there. It was then, that he spotted a woman also moving slowly, staring longingly at the place where his father had lain in his coffin. She walked over to him. "You're Dante, right?" "Yes..." He hardly knew what to say, she was stunning. Blonde, beautiful in an elegant black dress, with red eyes that seemed to stare into your soul. His breath had been taken, but then she said something that shook the ideas in his head away completely. "I'm your mother."

Chris didn't know why he had to change into "formal" clothes. You wore black to a funeral didnt you? That's what he wore all the time. Why couldn't he wear his regular clothes? None of this made sense to Chris' logic, but he went along with it, for everyone else's sake.
He reluctantly sat near the front with the others. He would have preferred being in the back, but Nailah insisted they sit up front with the others. He felt rather uncomfortable being in the front row, he preferred being in the back..
The funeral started, and as HB's and Lindsay's coffins slowly burned into ash, every Dark SiDer began shedding even a few tears. That is, everyone except Chris. He really wanted to get away, and not let anyone see his dry cheeks. He suddenly found himself wishing that he had a hood again. He just didn't cry anymore.
After the funeral, Chris followed the other Dark SiDers back to the Castle, where the gloomy mood seemed to have followed them. The time slowly crawled past, as tears were dried and noses blown. Chris didn't want his tearlessness to get anyone started on him. He moved to go back to his room, but Nailah held on to his arm.
"Where are you going?" she said "I don't think my.... demeanor.... is wanted right now, i think I'll go to my quarters," "No, stay here, it's fine," "But-" "We know you Chris," she said, cutting him off
And that was all she had to say to make him realize it didn't matter if he was crying or not. He just had to be there, with everyone else.

Queen SD shed the few tears she had left during the funeral. She had gone through many losses, but not many pained her as much as this. Oh Jason... If you had just been a bit more careful… But you fought bravely, I’ll give you that. The Queen let a faint nostalgic smile form on her lips, while memories of the times they had spent together rushed through her mind.
“Cho, go to Tundra, she needs you now.” SD whispered to the dragon when they had returned to the castle. She roamed the halls alone, trying to avoid most people. Once or twice she considered going to her chamber, leaving all that behind, but she dismissed the idea. She needed to be there. There was not much talking going on, after all, what was there to say? Still, the Dark SiDers speechless shared grief and pain.
“Samantha?” a voice echoed behind her. “Liam?” she turned around. There was no need to say anything further, he just squeezed her in his arms and held her there. It wasn’t long before they heard voices down the corridor. One look and they recognized Chris and Nailah, who paused when they saw them. “You too, come here!” SD shouted out to them, somehow smiling. Soon enough Nailah had joined them; as well as Cho and Tundra which appeared a second later. Chris still kept his ground. “Chris… we need you here.” Nailah spoke and the Queen nodded.
It wasn’t long before all the Dark SiDers, including Chris, were standing in the center of the hall, holding each other in one big group hug. At least we still have each other.

"You're... Sarah? Sarah McGuinness?"
"Yes."
Dante stared at her for a moment, and then hugged her suddenly, tears filling up his eyes.
"Mom..."
"Dante..."
They stood there, hugging, and crying on each other's shoulder...
"Where did you go?"
"I was fighting in a war... In fact, I still am... Heaven against Hell... We're winning. I decided to take some time off from fighting to come here..."
"You just... Disappeared... Not long after I was born..."
"I know, and i'm sorry..."

When it was getting late, brought Nailah to her room. They stood outside the door and Chris asked,
"I know it's been a hard day for us all... if you don't want to be alone you can come sleep with me tonight..."
Nailah seemed to really be thinking about it, but eventually declined and entered her room.
Chris walked back his room and on the way he thought,
Why'd I ask that.... Well, I know why i asked but.... Why? Oh....
"Whatever," he said as he walked through his door and into his room to sleep.

Tundra lay her head on Cho's chest. His slow and steady heartbeat reassured her, it was like a comforter. "Tundra.." Cho began, but Tundra shushed him, not meaning to be rude, but she didn't trust herself to hold herself together. She held him tighter. They hadn't moved for twenty mintues. They hadn't wanted to. They just wanted to be together. "Cho, I'm sorry." Tundra blurted out. Tears now rolling freely down her face. "I'm sorry that..." Cho held his finger to her lips. "I'm sorry too." And he picked her up, in his strong arms, and carried her to their room.
They sat on the bed together, Tundra weeping, and Cho gently stroking her hair, calming her. Tundra knew that things were going to be alright...they had to, didn't they?
But suddenly she wasn't so sure, as she felt a salty tear, meander down her forehead, spilling from Cho's beautiful eyes.
